So after loading the base NBBmap with aem uego, 3 bar map sensor, and tps calibrated. It wants to start, but not hold. I read add lots of fuel but I am lost at that.

I am using the V1 of wari since I still can't get it to load V3 firmware. I have removed the whole computer leaving only the 8 pin connector. Still will not load.

Any sugestions?

Have a great day,
Jared

Look at the idle values. From what I remember they are way too low, like in the 30's. My car had normal idle around 70

I think changing the flow control to Xon/Xoff might help. I have to find that thread again. It's in the properties of the COM port you are using to communicate with the ECU.

Wahoo I got her running. As dumb as it sounds and as dumb as I feal I thought that I was resetting the computer before trying to install the firmware.

So I got 2 things done today, but also took a major step back. I thought that the wires on the uego were far enought away from the exhaust. suprise they wern't and melted. Took out the sensor connector as well. Live and learn. Now on the search for a new sensor and guage.

Have a great day,
Jared

if it melted the conector i would not worry. i would just strip down the wires left and wire in some random wires....i would at least try before you drop more money

I am going to try that first. I have plenty of extra wire on the harness it's like 96in or something like that. I did find a sale on them this weekend so if it will not solve the problem I will just order a new one.

Thank you for the sugestion.

Have a great day,
Jared

Ok, I just got my Uego in and am getting ready to install it and try this all over again. I have been thinking (which nothing good has ever come of btw) and have a few questions.

1. Can I drive the car with out the laptop connected and auto tune the car?

2. What are good AFR's to be aiming for? I have them set the same the map that Travis has posted for the n/a NBB which are:

14.7 14.7 14.7 14.7
14.7 14.7 14.7 14.7
14.0 14.0 14.0 14.0
13.5 13.5 13.5 13.5
13.0 13.0 13.0 13.0

3. Has anyone ever melted the connector and soldered the wires back to gether? What was done witht he green wire? It has no wire going to the sensor at the connector.

Please let me know.

Have a great day,
Jared

Any sugestions?

I am plannign on installing the new cables and repairing the melted one as a back up. I am going to try to fix the old guage as well. I will have to get someone that can do electronic board repair to fix it since one of the lines if thats what is called was burnt when the wires grounded or touched each other.

Have a great day,
Jared

1. yes.

2. Should be fine. There are tons of AFR maps floating around if you want to see what other people are running.

3. No reason it shouldn't work, you just have to solder it again if you have to replace the sensor. I don't know about the green wire.

Thank you fro the info. I will just solder the wires and see what happens. As far as the green wire I am clueless.

I am just not shure that I want ot be running that rich. I am staying n/a for a while. I am new to all this so I am not shure about some things and this is one of them.

Have a great day,
Jared

Thats not that rich. I'm pretty sure that max power n/a is ~13.3 so running 13.0 should be fine. Once you get it running you could see what rpm/load you cruise at and lean that out a bit. I think I have my cruise AFR target @ 15.

For some reason the car wont idel now. It hardly wants to run. I tried a different map and it ran but it was for a different car and not tuned for VE. So I will have to do a conversion andgo at it that way to see if it will idel.

Have a great day,
Jared

Idle is very hard to get right. I never got it on my own and ended up adding fuel to a tuned map till it idled right

I am finding that out. At one time though it was running just fine. now I am having a hard time even keeping it running. Also I will load a map and then it will be all messed up. Sort of like i had not even tried to set the map up. Then I go and inspect the map and the one that I have saved on my computer is all messed up as well when I just looked at it before trying to load it.

Any ways a little here and there and it will be there.

Thank you and have a great day,
Jared

Jared, does your adapter harness/board have these jumpers? I've set mine to let the factory ECU control idle and have no issues. The Adaptronics folks said their ecu can do a lot better than the factory one, but I haven't been able to get it there. The pic shows it on the e420c position, but I currently have it on the Factory ECU position.

Thank you. I will have to take a look at that. When is the switch over between the computers?

Have a great day,

What do you mean by 'switch over'?
