Default Got my Adaptronic installed today!

Installed the Adaptronic today along with the GM IAT. I ended up hooking the MAP sensor to the plug in loom since I already had vac line going into the cabin for my boost gauge.

The sensors appear to be giving accurate readings and the car would crank and sometimes catch, but wouldn't start.

I haven't set the timing trigger offset yet, so it's probably just that. It's quite late here and I didn't want to **** off my neighbours so I'll give it a shot in the morning.

Anyway I've attached a datalog, does it otherwise look OK?

Cheers

I've set the timing, fouled a set of plugs (sounded like it was running on 2 cyls) then got it sorted. Runs nice now!

I'm still jealous of everyone installing their systems and driving their cars. I installed mine and parked the car for the summer and still don't know when I'll get back to it.
Keep us updated.

When the car is idling and under very low load, I get a random "popcorn popping in a plastic tube" kinda noise, when it happens the RPMs jump slightly. I've got a feeling that it's to do with my IAC, but who knows. Does anyone else get this?

I'm hoping it will just go away when the car hits the dyno on Friday.

Another bit of random weirdness is my car suddenly lost its ability to idle and I had to wind the bypass screw out by like 8 turns. The noise mentioned above predates this issue though.

go into "aux out", find the one for "idle control" then adjust the "frequency" up or down til it goes away. Most like to be at 500 or higher.

What have you got yours set to? Mine is at 1KHz at the moment to get rid of the resonance noise. Are you saying I should lower it to 500Hz?

you raise it or lower it to whatever the car likes. basically mess with it til the noise goes away.

Got it tuned on Friday, it pulls like a freight train now! Makes 150+ hp between 6000-7200 rpm with a peak of 153.9, boost is around 6 psi.

Really happy with the tune and the Adaptronic! The only things left to master are cranking settings and tidy up the idle a bit. It doesn't stall but it dips with the A/C on at times.

Thanks for the help!

I'm still getting the random idle weird noises at pretty much any IAC frequency. I'm not certain that it is the IAC either. It sounds like a really minor intake backfire, or like I have a frog jumping around in my intake!!

Whenever the noise occurs the RPM will jump ~100rpm for half a second or so then settle.

My car has been off the road with a blown head gasket, I'll let you know the answer to that question when it's all back together! :(

Blew the welds on the intake, causing the floor to fall out. On a more serious note, I'm not sure if it just got too hot in traffic (the fan ducting was poor) or the seal on the gasket was a bit dodgy when we put the thing together, but it has been skimmed and I have some ARP head studs and proper ducting to help out this time.
