New Firmware/Software!
Adaptronic Firmware (V1.0P)
New Firmware Link This is the latest firmware for the Adaptronic e420c ECU. It is suitable for version 1.0 of the hardware. Right click, select "Save As...", and install it to the ECU using FlashItV1. Adaptronic_V10P.adf - requires WARI Version 1.12 Earlier versions & revision history V1.0P (2009-Aug-03) - WARI Version V1.12 * Corrected tacho on aux output for 50% duty cycle * Added transient throttle ignition advance * Added logic-only inputs based on logic-only outputs * Added boost duty cycle scaling based on percent TPS * Removed 'Enable Datalogging' input feature * Added aux output based on battery voltage * Improved MAP and TPS resolution, now 1/16 of a kPa or Percent for interpolation * Removed MAP filter * Corrected bug with the closed-loop fuel max TPS * Added 2-rotor wasted leading, alternate/DF trailing mode * Added 2-rotor direct fire mode * Added ELM327 Scantool error correct mode @ 38400 baud * Added new tuning mode: 1=MAP, 2=MAP, Pri = 1, Sec = 1x2, Ign = 1 * also added injector 3/4 trim (rear rotor trim), when in this tuning mode * Fixed bug with max RPM and max Load for closed-loop fuel control * Added min load for closed-loop fuel control * Fixed bug with WOT enrichment * Added special trigger mode for Nissan VQ30 engine * Added AEM UEGO 0-5V on spare input * Added protocol for Innovate TC-4 thermocouple interface device, on second serial port * Added support for Gen 5 Suzuki Swift triggering, with VVT and sequential injection * Improved accuracy of VVT angle detection * Added option for idle-up on each close throttle event (dashpot) * Fixed bug in TPS cutoff for asynch accelerator pump |
This is the newest/greatest? NICE
I don't see a link to it though. |

* Fixed bug in TPS cutoff for asynch accelerator pump WAT there's a bug? |
I know I seen that!! I don't know what its referring to.
|
Damn, too late. I wanted to ask them on their next release if they can put a user selectable setting to toggle between *C and *F. Should be easy and some of us have a hard time converting celcius in our heads.

I'm not really good at the convert either, but I know water boils at a 100, and room temperature is about 20-25. If anything is just acting weird I could spot it by that. Considering these guys mostly serve software to the domesticated world, I doubt we get any help because we still use the kings foot to measure distance.
|
Excellent.

Nice. If that is what I think it is, I will be using that feature.

argh. the logging filename feature is still broken in the first few days of the month.

Big problem
Ok, has anyone used this yet?
I just did. Flashed it with FlashitV1 and loaded my map like usual, start the car and notice its kinda weird (like the car is vibrating, but rpm are steady). Ok, no big deal I'll let it warm up and take it for a spin. Take it for a spin, go into boost, and... FUEL CUT! Wtf, I try it again. It starts cutting fuel and killing all power as soon as I get into boost. Then I look at the "gauges" window and ITS RUNNING ON OEM O2 SENSOR! WTF???? There is absolutely no serial communication between the adaptronic and my aem uego. I tweak with it for a good 20 minutes, nothing I do works. I get out and inspect all the connections: they're perfect. I go home and reload the old firmware. Car starts right up, idles decent like before, and now my wbo2 is communicating with the Adap with no problems. AM I DOING SOMETHING WRONG OR IS THIS A GLITCH/PROBLEM? I thought it was something on my end til I flashed the old firmware back in and it worked fine again. |
I noticed that as well. Analog tab is set to OEM NB sensor, LC-1 is selected in the special functions (?) tab. I'm just getting the car up and running, but AFR never went further than 14.5 -15.3, when the Innovate gauge was showing swings between 10.1 and 18.1.

I'm pretty sure either something is fuxorzed with the new firmware or some settings changed disabling the wbo2 that we were not told about. I'm back on the old firmware til this is figured out, since it works fine. |
I'll send a message over to rob...
|
Reverted back to the old firmware, and still can't get a reading from the LC-1.
|
Just so you guys know Rob believes he has tracked down the problem in the firmware. He's temporarily removed the update and is now working to fix it.
|
I drove to work this morning with the new firmware installed - glad I brought the laptop along. No UEGO issues though.
|
Sorry guys
|
Heey good afternoon all,
Any updates with this? Was anyone able to revert back to the previous FW version and restore the car to the way it was? I'm gonna go out and finish up my last min items and go out for a drive :) Cheers, Prospero |
Alright, flashed back to the previous FW version and I now have my AFR gauge working.
Off to test drive! Cheers, Prospero |

Exactly. When I set my back up sensor to stock narrow band it reads just that: 14.2-15.5 and completely different from the aem. When I turn off the narrow band it doesn't read afr at all, while the aem gauge still does.

apparently the firmware is fixed and back up. guinea pigs?
|
No thanks, I'll be running the old firmware when I go dyno tuning this Friday :)
I'll try it eventually. |
I'll try it tonight... still have all my tuning to do since my motor still stumbles under harsh acceleration. Gonna go and get a new fuel filter since mine has 60k miles on it...
Seems that there should be no reason for the stumble other than weak pressure or volume of fuel? Also gonna install the "cooler" plugs today as well. Cheers, M@ |

Fuel filter issues at 60k seems unlikely unless you put mud in your tank.
I'd bet it's still the enrichments need tuning. DLL can do great images of the displayed logs. ;) |
Haven't tried it yet! Anyone else notice they put an output up based on battery voltage? I'm tempted to get a new alternator just to see if it works good enough. This could be the full standalone break through that some people have been wanting.

Since the car is on jacks today.. I will change the fuel filter as a sanity measure. My volvo was very particular with the fuel filter and did the same thing. Stephanie at BEGi had also told me of an instance such as this before on a customer car. My next plan is to play with the asynch... tried it before and that is how I suspected there was a bad injector. Sure enough it was replaced under warranty... likely the drop to the floor did it no good. Installed all my new parts over the weekend and then got sick... have not had a chance to do anything with the car since. Worse part is that I am leaving to Belarus tomorrow night and will be gone for a couple of weeks. :( Really itching for a boosted run before I go overseas!!! Cheers, M@ |

oops, my bad. not DLL. MLV. mega log viewer.
MegaLogViewer save as CSV and open in that. be happy. then you can view the logs and pull down the file menu and save as image. Travis: I wouldn't bother with a non PID "linear" responding alternator control. Do they have another way to do it? |
Actually I got an email this morning telling me that was not its intended function. I like the parallel installs, but I guess having parallel isn't as cool as going "lone wolf"
They said they were working on implementing it for alternator control. *** The TC-4 addition is this firmware allows the logging of 4 EGT's, and the coupling of the WBO2 onto that. So its an all in one serial port based solution to the EGT and WBO2 monitoring. |
OK well I might be trying the new firmware after all just so I can get a TC-4 and log an EGT probe. Anyone tried the new new firmware yet?
