Default Chassis mount wing that isn't battleaero?

Looking for a wing that doesn't force me to hack up my trunk lid. I like the idea of the chassis mounts through the rear bumper, but the battleaero piece looks 1000% marketed towards the dorifto crowd, so I doubt if they're actually effective. Any other chassis mount options?

Get a junkyard trunk lid, cut that up, keep the original one to put back when you don't want the wing any more?

Much easier to swap a trunk lid than bumper cover, IMO

Get another trunk lid.

kazespec makes a chassis mount wing I believe. But I agree with above swapping a trunk is defiantly easier.

I wanted a wing for track days--not pure racing--and something that I could take off without leaving marks. This is it. It installs behind the license plate, includes a stiffener plate inside the trunk and installs in about five minutes. And the trunk fully opens.

It's a shame you don't know who made it, where to buy it, or what it's called. All of that might have made it interesting.

It's obviously a closely held secret only available to the elite of Miata-dom.

I built it mainly for the Catfish, but also so it could fit on the Miata or pretty much any car with a license plate. Only two were ever made. If there's interest it is reproduceable.

I, sadly, don't have a license plate on my Miata.

I'm interested enough to ask; Does it flex at speed (yaw or roll)? If so, would guy-wires help?

Why guy wires? Are you a sexist? There are plenty of acceptable wires out there that don't identify as guy.

If you do wires, make sure they're behind the body/below the trunk and not in direct air.

That license plate mount looks a lot like 9LR's C8 pylons. That design can certainly work well.

I followed the orange car at Laguna Seca and didn't see any side to side flex. The car tracks often with no problems. I'm talking to Dave at DG Motorsports about making it available. Stand by.

I would laugh at myself for having that.

I've thought that something like a hidden hitch with a couple of extra vertical receivers would be ideal for a removable ****, and I'd assume that for those who might be interested in a removable ****, a tire trailer might not be uncommon--i.e. they already have a hitch installed.

As a one-time trailer user, the hitch (tongue) ALWAYS got removed - it weighed so much there was no way I was going to leave it on. Regardless of that (and my tongue may have been heavier than most), I expect I would have been told to remove it at scrutineering. If it was supporting a wing, and presented as less of blade as a result, it might be acceptable ...
