Why Bullet has flat bar stock for splitter supports instead of cables and also why none of our cars have cables anywhere.

I'm working on a full Under Aero for my daily, so here is some work on the front diffuser and the rear diffuser is right behind it.

Theres a reason I added side support to my wing the way I did and refused to use cable.

Actually I ran the same size splitter as you have made and ran it at Pukekohe with the usual wing for a lower downforce setup and had a scary lose of the front at turn 1 which is near flat in 6th! (Hankook Z214's notorious for no feedback letting go)
I honestly thought the suspension had broken it was so sudden. So I vowed to never run that small again! :) |

Any of you guys who have built your own floor, I'm currently making some test composite sandwich panels and wondering what you see in terms of load deflection? With my first off sample, an 11mm (7/16”) thick 300mm (12") wide strip, I clamped it to the bench hanging off 500mm (20") and put 2.3kg (5lb ish) on the end and saw 17mm (11/16") of deflection. This was very lightweight as I will continue to build the skin thickness, but just wondering if anyone else had made similar measurements?In case anyone's interested this was 600g/m² (18oz) fiberglass skins either side of 10mm blue modeling foam (polystyrene), weight is about 2.7kg/m² (5lb/yrd²). Comparisons are being made with carbon skins and different core materials, will see how I get on. |

Epoxy resin is a definite since I'd be using a foam core. Made that mistake before!

The size is in compliance to the rules in the German Championship, that means that all aeroparts should not to be seem in the front projection plane. After one year of driving with this wing I'll found that I will need (only a little bit!) more downforce on the front axle. I started the work on a splitter splitter these days and give fotos to this platform. Jan |
