BEGI Service Delays?

Is anyone else running into some delays getting stuff from Begi? I sent my turbo/manifold/dp at the before new years (So sometime around the end of Dec08) to them looking to have the flanges matched and reworked. I have called a few times and was told i was moving up and next in line. Its now April, i still have no turbo/dp/manifold.

Venting, but also looking to see if anyone else has had similar experience. Or how long it took you guys to get stuff back.

(PS. Bought a house ..its the reason I haven't been around, in case anyone here actually remembers me)

It just enforces why I do all my work myself. I just wanted this to get done over the winter. Its starting to get warm and my parts to finish the car aren't here yet. Its frustrating.

Vashthestampede 04-07-2009 09:50 PM

Good luck with that.

There's been alot of talk about shipping delays from BEGI from members on here. I'm sure most of them will come in this thread and tell you such. Usually all works out in the end from what I remember reading....

Sucks man, hopefully it works out for you. I know the feeling of wanting the car on the fucking road already. Especially with spring here.

Congrats on the house, welcome back. :bigtu:

Another customer with huge delay problems. Looks like its their motto now

Loki,

I picked up what was supposed to be a complete kit the last week of January. I am still waiting on parts.

I mean, I friggin' drove down there, and left with a box that contained a used kit that came off of a functioning turbo'd car that should have had everything, and should not have had any fitment issues. I'm missing several parts, some I need (IC plumbing), some I don't(FPR), and some I can work around(fittings, etc.).

I got a stinkin' good deal on it, but getting me the two missing intercooler pipes doesn't seem to be a priority to them. I've tried not to vent much since I met them in person and they were all very nice folks, with a good looking operation that obviously puts out great parts, but honestly, I'm at wit's end.

The whole point of me buying a preassembled kit was to not have to deal with the hassle of rounding up parts, fabbing stuff, and waiting. Now I've done everything else I can possibly do on my build, and been waiting on these guys for a while.

The worst part is every time I'm ready to just fab it myself or slap some O'Reilly special exhaust tubing on there, they tell me they're one step closer to being on their way.

I'm sure you'll be happy with your parts when they arrive, but you're certainly not the only one that's been waiting.

I don't know what the deal is. I don't know if they get overwhelmed or are mismanaged. I REALLY hope it's the former. If they've got more business than they can handle, that's good for them. It means busting their hump, but it means they are hitting a strong market, and we will continue to have Bell Engineering quality and Corky's innovation around. If it's the latter I'm sorry for them and the loss it would be to the turbo Miata community should their business go south.

This is the reason why I will never order stuff from begi again...

Thank you for the input. Sorry your dealing with the same issues, but i feel better knowing I am not alone. I mean if there was just better communication I probably wouldn't be so cranky, with the new house and some trips on the Z1000 coming up I don't have that much free time and can arrange other things in the cars place. I just want to be able to schedule and move forward (But jesus going on 4 months, cmon)

I feel it necessary to say that EVERY time we have spoken you have impressed upon me how much of a hurry you are NOT in. I believe your response has been "take your time, I'm not in a rush". I feel it is extremely unfair on your part to complain about how long it is taking when you have told me it does not matter. If circumstances have changed, please let me know and I can accommodate your situation. But if I have warranty pipes or back orders to fill, I will get those pipes made before one I am told there is no rush on.

It has more to do with trying to remake a part that is 16 years old. We do not have materials for that part, much less Jig's to make the part with. Corky has improvised the best he can, but I would not be surprised if they require modification to fit. They are done and being powdercoated. You will get them when I get them back.

We are overwhelmed with downpipes and parts to make at the moment. The guys are going to start working weekends so we should catch up faster.

even "take your time" has a reasonable time limit implied.

Stephanie Turner 04-08-2009 01:57 PM

I totally agree with you on the implied time limit. But, even two weeks ago, when we spoke it was still "take your time, I'm in no rush".

What would you do? Make the pipes that people are waiting on and/or back ordered, or make the one that there is "no rush" on?
Stephanie

tyson87 04-08-2009 02:13 PM

i too ordered something BUT! i am not in a rush, so i am waiting patiently.
atleast this gives me time to play with the MS.

i understand how people could be upset if the dead line was missed. but to be fair i would have to agree with begi. that u sometimes need to prioritize (not saying that customers arent priority) but rush orders should be done first.

begi is good, and i dont feel like they are too expensive for the quality of the parts from what i have seen on here.

hustler 04-08-2009 02:28 PM

Yes, the waiting sucks but I "hovered" and got my stuff in a moderately timely manner the 2nd time around (mutant car).

Would buy again.
