Street Pump question
lol
actually, that is a good question. cant tell by the pic (using my smellphone), but it isnt threaded is it? im not sure what its for, but if you didnt have a line or sensor there on the old one, i would plug it. Also check the box and stuff, make sure a plug or whatever didnt fall out somewhere.
I don't want to threadjack but since this is active and has an audience....

I have a new BE oil pump and it has something like vaseline inside, I imagine this is pre-lube or something. Should I do anything special before installing? clean it out? Sorry for going off the original topic but to be fair it has been answered.
If the op wants the dimensions of the plug I would gladly post em up.
That plug is usually supplied by a gasket kit, but basically we ran out and we didn't want to hold up orders. We can't keep the pumps on the shelf at the moment. I think Stuart is sending you one of the fresh aluminum ones though. Orders going forward will have the nice plugs again so you don't have to use the plastic ones that come with the kits.
FYI that is not Vaseline. That is Super Lube with PTFE. Vaseline would be much cheaper to use but we feel a synthetic lube with Teflon protects the pump on start up better than standard petroleum jelly. I like knowing it is there for you guys when you start your engine for the first time.
