So I have been working on this for a couple months maybe one day a week when I have time. I have kept a pretty active build thread on the supra forums but I thought I'd share some pictures and info here for fun.
Major parts are
2jz gte vvti motor
Cast manifold
Bullseye 68mm turbo (good for 900+whp on e85 with the current turbine wheel/housing)
1000cc injectors we are going to start on pump gas
6 speed transmission from a 350z
Spec twin disk good for 900ft lbs
Pro efi 128 ecu

Im surprised i have not gotten more negative post cats for this build thread yet.

custom intercooler i had made to a solidworks drawing. Fitting a large core is difficult even more so with a longer motor so this is what we have to work with. It is a bell intercooler core. Everything will be vband and vanjen clamps i hate intercooler couplers.

Yeah i had a GR sti that i attempted to daily drive when ever it was running before pulling apart the miata for the 2jz swap. I ended up selling it and buying a new prius .

Here is some videos of that dump lol. My goal was the first GR sti in the 10s..but instead if bent a rod bolt or two on a turbo tuff i beam and then i ended up just putting a smaller 58mm turbo in and a lighter built motor until i sold it 400whp was boring :giggle:.

I got the ecu half way mounted tonight. I still need to head to the store to get some scrap steel to make a little bracket for the hole on the left. Its so hard to fit all these super sized items in this little car it calls for mounting things in some odd places.

If you get this setup to work it will be nuts.

Nothing wrong with that :likecat:

No need for neg props either, you're using good parts and shooting for absurd power

Absurd power is really amusing

Thanks for posting, interested to see where this goes. What are your plans for the car? I'd imagine that thing is going to be quite a handful to drive.

18psi 03-05-2016 07:49 PM

I'm seeing more and more swaps on different cars run the tree fiddy trans
they're getting popular. will likely go up in price soon

Plans are for it to just be a fun car to drive. My only real goal would be to make a 9 second pass eventually when we can actually get it running and kinks worked out.

350z trans seem pretty solid from my research and are perfect for many swaps. A big negative though is there massive size fitting it in the miata was well interesting and we still have not 100% bolted it up only shoved it up and down in the tunnel and then correcting the spots that hit until we stopped hitting. I think i only paid around $700 shipped for the trans and there are people making 1000+whp on them without issues in heavier cars.

Someone should make a setup to use one on a BP it is cheap and would be a good replacement for the current 6 speed swaps even though they are pnp.

What are you running for a rear end?

It is only a ford monster Miata 7.5 setup I found one locally for super cheap and only have about 5-600 into the whole rear setup by the time I sold my stock rear end.

Once it explodes on what I'm sure will be the first time I launch it I'll move up to the 8.8 I actually wanted.

K_sr20 03-09-2016 04:00 PM

That's an impressive swap! I'm curious to see how it all turns out.

Motor can go back in with the trans once we get the pilot bearing i ordered. I did not like the bushing setup that came with the swap kit. I also got the valve covers cleaned up and some -10an fittings welded on.

Some more parts came in.

Also ordered one of the real street catch cans so hopefully we will have that this week.

Oh damn. Straight six Toyota engines are my jam.
I tried my best to break a 7.5 behind a 350 whp 302 and I just ended up breaking the c4 trans... after 10 years of constant abuse.
Any more pics of the dif mounted to the rear subframe?

Scaxx 03-15-2016 01:53 AM

Interested in watching this come along, keep the pics coming.

lol....
All i did was find out my maximum size i could fit, then draw up a model in solidworks with how i wanted end tanks and the 90 degree vband end for adjustment on it then sent it to a shop called fathouse fabrications and then a couple weeks later my intercooler showed up. I did not choose the core or any details around it, it a quality bell ic core though.
