Where's the update that includes the video of the car running? Still waiting on the new engine harness? It feels like this car has been sitting/not running for at least a year already...

and this everyone is the true master mind of the project cannot thank him enough for making this build happen.

New harness has arrived from tweaked.

(sorry for the follow bad pictures quickly took them on my way in the door for bed/this post)

Some good and bad news. Good is i love the routing so far of the new harness. Customer service has been quick to reply to some little things i needed ect. First impressions were great everything (almost) was labeled well and looked good. Bad news is they messed up a thing or two and i am going to email them and hopefully it can be worked out quickly without having to ship the harness back. Overall currently very happy with the purchase. Tomorrow depending on rather they need the harness back or not to remedy I will start working on installing the coilpacks as they should arrive in the mail.

Nice, it lives!

What are you doing with the shifter on the CD009? We just put a VVTi 2J (S366 on e85) with the 350 tranny in an S15 Silvia and it was a huge pain to properly modify the shift linkage to sit in a livable location and function. We're using the maperformance GM coil pack brackets and quite happy with them. The truck coils with the heatsink are beastly. We are also using the Vanjens exclusively which are a bit of a pain to use but functionally are great.

Shifter there are a few options ..

There is a guy that goes by brett fanning on facebook and he can make you a custom to length linkage its basically just two bushings cut and welded to length. That is the cheapest option.

Vanjens are amazing...but they are a PAIN to connect in some places if you do not have it setup perfect. They are a more user friendly vband basically lol.

Sounds like this s15 is going to make some power s366s are very good value to performance turbos. F the PTE scrap.

We had it at Gingerman for gridlife. It made just under 700 at the tires on 23lbs of boost with a quick tune without touching the VVTi tables. The rest of the setup is BC 264 cams, docrace supra twinscroll manifold, twin turbosmart 50mm gates, Haltech PS2000, ID2000's, Magnafuel 750lph and a huge ARC FMIC for an R34. We are sourcing a 75hp nitrous kit that turns the solenoid off at 5-8psi to spool the turbo for crazy response since it's a drift car. The bottle should last a long ass time using it on a short duty cycle like that. We just upgraded to the SXE billet wheel center section and going to spend more time on the rollers.

Thats the Vibrant 12694 catch can and it's a thing of beauty.

The car did great for it's first time being driven and here is something for you guys from us Canadians for this weekend.

Soft rear springs and the wisefab up front makes for great grip and weight transfer lol

/hijack Cant wait to see your build pan out.

Shortpersonbk 07-03-2016 05:39 PM

Looks like a super fun car! Clean bay also! It is funny how a s300 chassis looks small next to a 2j.

Sucks you guys already bought the center section. These guys do amazing things with borg turbos and even make their own ballbearing stuff in house if you spend the $$ (which i am far to poor for lol) Bullseye Power Turbochargers - Performance Turbo Manufacturing.

Aww what a tease! Can't wait to see a full pull.

Shortpersonbk 08-15-2016 08:36 PM

Welp...had some cool things happen today

Rear subframe bushings failed somehow at like 1mph
Dif moved around a bit and a axle was damaged.

Scared me a bit and i think it marks the time for me to sell the car or part it out. So if there is any interest hit me up. Cost to fix the rear end is about $550 ..needs axles $450 and new bushings around $60. I will not die in this miata over some cool youtube videos lol.

so you didn't think the car would be scary over the past few months to a year or however long you had it when you were stuffing a 2JZ into it?

I mean...

"I'm gonna build a dangerous suicide mobile for highway pulls"

..."I'm selling the car cause It's a dangerous suicide mobile"

lol...I get you. It was one thing to know it was scary. It was another to drive. But it really set in when I was letting the clutch out and the rear dif just kind of dropped.

I also have been considering selling for a while now. I am interested in less of a project sports car (c6 or Elise or evora is at the top of the list for now).
