We're using BMW E36 and E46 transmissions for this upgrade, and have built parts to work with both the K series and BP engine platform, so all you turbo guys will have a nice trans option too. In fact, that's whats in the car right now.

So far this setup feels really amazing. There's lots more hard testing coming (one of the reasons for this NB2 turbo project). There are lots of pictures posted in the links above, but here are a couple for this thread:

Thank you. I do have some updates as well.

We're prepared to drop the K20 in the car now. This setup is going to start out N/A, and we'll be testing our new A/C and power steering kits in it. Once that's done, A/C will probably get pulled when we add boost.

We did settle on a Garrett GTX3076R GEN II turbo, and ordered one up last week. It should be very well-suited to our needs. Very efficient, quick spool-up with the ability to get us in that 600whp range on a 100% stock block.

Material has also been ordered for the custom manifold and downpipe. I'll post more pictures once the K swap starts getting fitted into the chassis.

3076r genII...700hp on tap (after forged goodies).
Officially scary fast!

I noticed that they make reverse rotation version of that turbo.....Thought I would mention it just in case it helps your plumbing.

The 7163 is more of a 400-500 hp tubo.
It is rated at 550 IIRC.
It might be a better daily driver option, but usually by the time you get to 600hp in a 4 banger....That has long gone out the window.
