Looks like it's going to be a big project. Good luck! I dream of being able to do a rotisserie restoration of my own car one day to make it better than new. "Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the technology. We have the capability to make the world's greatest sports car."

Next step: let's start with some spot welding!

Threads like this really make me wish I had kept the clean shell I had and kept on stitch welding it for a future build. Can't wait to see what more you do!

Any extra planned reinforcement, or are you just stitch welding it?

Reinforced frame rails, fender braces and roll bar. everything bolted on, not welded.
i hope it will be enough.

First, the brand new roll bar

And some more updates about restoration..

lots of rust inside frame's overlapping congiunction
l

fixed

bendend

welded

rady for nex step

Another big problem was near the door, no structural corrosion here
Opened like a candy

And the rear left sill completely opened

I do not miss working on cars with this much rust. That said, you are going to have one awesome car when this is all finished! Keep it blue.

Test fitting for my stainless steel frame rails

After that, i started with the sandblasting treatment, the worst job ever!!
But the result is awesome! rust, dirt, paint.. everything clean as i like it!

very well done. Unlike you I LOVE sandblasting. Just put on some music, switch off your head and go blasting. I'll be following this thread.

probably with the right equipment i'll like it too, but with my cheap sandblaster it was a big mess!

anyway, i finished welding and sandblasting the whole under car

it's time to prepare the engine bay too. not sandblasting, just sanding with many kind of sandpaper..

everything's ready for paint, when.... something arrives in the garage...

mmh....

New bodyworks update!
I bought the aftermarket quarter panel but those are thinner than the original ones and doesn't fit very well..
After many hours af work the result is acceptable.

Now i'm ready for carbon miata fender flares!
