This is how I bought the car:

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_u_Fa91MHhi4/Sl...0/CIMG3374.jpg

Stock except for wheels, JR racing intake, AGX Shocks, and RB front sway bar.

Then I bought a twinscrew supercharged 01 SE miata for parts:

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_u_Fa91MHhi4/Sr...90614-1624.jpg

Here is what I've done so far:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2647/...4e1b82d2_b.jpg

Changed the suspension out to Koni Yellows, Flyin' Miata Springs, FCM Bumpstops, and top mounts. Replaced the kosei's with 16" OEM SE Enkei's. With the springs at the bottom perch, current ride height is 11.5F/12R. Got a performance alignment:

2.3F/2.3R camber
Slight toe out front, slight tow in rear
Max caster

Close up of the "Enkei":

Interior shot: Includes NB nardi wheel, kenwood ipod player, NB chrome vent rings, miata cage shiftknob. Disregard the red seats, they are replaced with eBay Brides.

I bought m-edition sill plates in ROUGH shape. 3M was having a sale on their CF material wrap so this is the result:

Wanting more information on these "Ebay brides knockoffs"

paNX2K&SE-R 03-17-2010 03:07 PM

Nice work so far. I think the switch from K1s to the Enkeis was a downgrade though.

I really like the look of the enkei's. Although it's heavier and narrower, they serve as street wheels and I am not pushing the limits of 3lbs and 1" rim width on the street.

I sold my begi S4 manifold and dp to replace it with a begi S6 kit. I am having a tough time getting the downpipe in place. Any tips? I tried every angle I can think of, and it just isn't working. Any help please?

railz 05-30-2010 12:22 AM

big updates:

I got the megasquirt up and running nicely. I installed a wideband to learn the megasquirt tuning software. Then I got an opportunity to street tune a 95 turbo miata, so that is a good learning experience for when I turbo my car. Currently, the car pulls hard (for a miata, anyways) with just basic street tuning on 93 octane gas and an increase in timing across the board.

Pics of my wideband in one of the factory air vents:

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_u_Fa91MHhi4/S_...0/IMG_3997.JPG

The stock 5sp tranny is known to blow when boost is added. So I installed the 6 speed tranny from my parts car, along with Flyin' Miata 10.3lb flywheel and centerforce dual friction clutch. Sorry, no pics of the installation.

Boss frog clearview single hoop roll car install:

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_u_Fa91MHhi4/S_...0/IMG_3978.JPG

While installing the rollbar, I removed my soft top (to replace it with the top from my parts car).

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_u_Fa91MHhi4/S_...0/IMG_3981.JPG

everything out:
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_u_Fa91MHhi4/S_...0/IMG_3983.JPG

I found a rusty fuel cover panel. I sanded the rust off and painted all the panels that were on top of the fuel tank.

End result:

Rspeed hood dampers:

I also repainted my valve cover. This is what I started with:

primer:

Final:

Installed RX7 460cc fuel injectors:

Stock 127k injectors vs. cleaned 460cc's:

also debadged the rear license panel:

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_u_Fa91MHhi4/S_...0/IMG_3985.JPG

And lastly, I put new wheels on. Kosei K1. 16x7.5+32 in the front and 17x7.5+25 in the rear:

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_u_Fa91MHhi4/S_...0/IMG_4014.JPG

Installed all-aluminum 55mm radiator with alum. shroud and slim fans wired in parallel:

My injectors! Where in Buffalo do you live? I'm actually moving there towards the end of this month if all goes well.

Fireindc 05-31-2010 10:44 PM

Would you please give us your opinion on the knockoff bride seats?

I know people bash them, but they honestly look great. It seems to me that they MUST be better/safer than stock seats just because how much lower they put you, this is if you run them with proper harnesses/rollbar of course.

Also, for some reason since they were knockoffs i was expecting them to read BIRDE or something along those lines. Rofl.

1 of them was locked up from sitting for too long. I had to get them recleaned. But they work great now. They flowed 550 after the clean

I love them

This build came along very nicely, I was a little skeptical of the valve cover but it kinda grew on me. Very nicely done.

How do you like those seats? Are they the knock offs on factory rails? I would love to get a set like those.

na8psi 05-31-2010 11:53 PM

+12 on the seats.

Would you mind posting build price, or PM me rough prices on some of the things you got if you wanted to keep quiet? Really curious.

Very nice though, I think it was done very well with very tasteful mods.

I love them. I haven't seen a "real" bride yet, but I don't really care. Most of my "nice car" comments usually end up along the lines of... I love those seats man. One minor gripe is that one seat is actually an inch smaller than the other one. I didn't know this until my friend sat in both.

I was iffy on the valve cover myself. But it looks much better in real life, and that matters more. The seats are mounted on factory rails. Driver's side is always a bitch and a half.

Very nice. Looks good and im sure pulls hard :)

vw_nut 06-01-2010 08:20 PM

If you are looking for a louder BOV, the one you want is the Turbo XS RFL.

It will have people turning around everytime you chop the throttle. I prefer something more subtle. If you want one I have one I'd sell for $50. I prefer not to have people looking all the time..

Sweet Ride!

hustler 06-01-2010 08:58 PM

Welcome to the baller v-band crew.

atl20ae 06-02-2010 12:17 AM
