Something kinda bugs me though: the area between 3600-5200. Looks like its either boost or spark limited to look that way, and could have been rounded to the left a little bit like the rest of the curve and other "normal" curves

Also any reason you didnt' wind it out to at least 7? Looks like it woulda kept making power

We did wind it to 7200RPM. The numbers are correct to the end of the RPM limit. I'm guessing the chart stops because it was specified to stop at 6800.

I'll post vids and pics soon. :)

File sent. I don't have any type of hosting. Post it up if you can.

Vids later on, I have to see what is salvageable from the cam. Battery died mid-stream.

Nice numbers. EFR goodness.

Reverant 03-13-2013 04:30 AM

Congrats man. Send me a datalog if you have one to check your knock numbers.

torque curve explained:

looks like you could easily maintain 250 tq from ~3800 till 6000RPM if you worked on the boost control.

18psi 03-13-2013 09:24 AM

is it running off the wastegate can only?

that would make perfect sense.

throw a boost controller on there and profit

99mx5 03-13-2013 12:35 PM

This is the boost controller I'm using:

Leafy 03-13-2013 12:38 PM

Wait, why? The efr has an EBC mounted to the compressor cover already.

18psi 03-13-2013 12:39 PM

I don't get it then. Why is the boost going limp in the previously mentioned area?

Reverant 03-13-2013 12:46 PM

Switch to EBC and love life again. I have a 1.8 car that has a Garrett GT3076 running at 29psi by 4000rpm.

What he said! That boost graph would be at 15psi by 3500rpm and not 6000rpm!

I'll definitely start playing with electronic boost control.

Last night I mocked up the Wilwood BBK to test clearance with my wheels (+40 6UL). Looks like there's plenty of room to spare. :)

No numbars!

99mx5 03-20-2013 02:34 AM

Numbers and graph are on previous page... and in the video title.

soviet 03-20-2013 02:50 AM

dude
you're missing out about half of your EFRs potential by running that shitty MBC. It clearly does a piss poor job. I get better boost control on just a high-boost wastegate.

EBC will do magical things.
