My lc-2 goes all whaky every two months. I re-cal and then it only goes wacky every 10 drives or so. Think I'll do Aidan's up grade. Thanks for links.

You should be fine as you have the same sensor I now have. The one delivered with the LC2 was the problem. Two of them, not one, did the same thing. Without changing anything (wiring, ground points, etc) but the sensor for a genuine Bosch 17025, everything has been fine for months. I highly suspect the sensor that comes with the LC2 is not a genuine Bosch sensor as it's missing the laser etching and is just a *bit* different in some very minor stuff, but I have no other proof to back up the claim.

Also LC2 with Bosch 4.2, no issues even after letting it sit idle in the downpipe for nearly a year. I bought like 4 sensors when Advanced Auto had them on super sale plus I had a coupon.

I'm sure all the oil in my exhaust is keeping it well protected

Make sure your lc-2 is new enough. The older ones don't support it.

what no skim on the gasket side? And here I go contemplative if I want the flange surface ground on that side or if a clean facemill pass is good enough.

It will need to be surfaced anyways after welding. So whats the point...

I'll just use an endmill. And it will seal just fine. or it might leak a teeny bit. but who really cares...

We also have a huge planer at work, might ask one of the guys to run it.

I didnt surface my old one after welding, its not necessary if you do it right. Just bolt it to a stock header or thick piece of steel and finish weld all the tubes before they welding to the flange and you'll be fine.

Fly cutter is probably the correct tool if you are going to surface it on a mill.

I do have a piece of 3" thick steel to bolt it to.

You can use a lathe as a fly cutter with a 4 jaw chuck.



Or just whip up something simple. You want one cutting edge and a single pass for best/flattest finish.

It's got a metal gasket. My last manifold sealed after sticking it on a belt sander. I'm not worried.
