Not sure where I found it but I read that fittings on the side are the best, then top, and never bottom.

Turn up your volume. |
Oooo... Fun times.
Good luck at the dyno tomorrow, I look forward to hearing about it after. LMK when you're heading my way, I'll probably be ready for a lunch break by the time you get here. |

Good thing there weren't any walls nearby...

Remind me to never be on a road or track at the same time that you are driving. You and Ed need to elope.... this is unreal
|
It was a 90 degree turn right after a small rise, and the turn ahead sign was knocked over. I wasn't even driving fast :(

Good thing there weren't any trees or dropoffs nearby.
Excuses, excuses :giggle: |

Good day. Josh killed it on the dyno. Fixed my fuel, then we bumped the boost until everyone got scared and were able to talk me down from killing my engine :) |
those are good numbers! hope the car is okay after the... excursion
|
So far seems like just more dents, bumper has more paint chipped off. And I'm missing my fog lights and air ducting up front. Luckily I had pulled off my undertray to install the oil cooler so that is saved. I need to take a rubber mallet to the fenders though.

And matching video!!
Check out the 2nd clip for tons of blow-by and cherry red manifold :) |
Laz's 1.6 continues to impress me. With it's turbo, it had more power and torque than a recently tuned N/A VVT starting at 2500rpm. And that's the goal really, turbo a 1.6 until it's faster than a 1.8.
Granted, at 1700rpms said VVT had nearly 30 more ft/lbs and 10 more hp, but still. |

So now its time for closed loop EBC. My plan for this is to look over all the dyno plots and figure out what boost where makes what power. Decide what I want my power/boost curve to look like and then make my boost target table. To actually hit that target table though I am using the beta firmware which has I bias duty table. To fill this I look at all the dyno logs and determine what boost duty cycle at what RPM gives me what boost. I use these numbers to populate the boost duty table. After that I will probably bump it down a couple percentage to save me from overboost on cold mornings/nights and the tune the PID loop.
Target table: Looking at dyno plots, I'm pretty happy using 195kpa all the way across. That keeps me within half a psi of my max power but gives me a little bit of wiggle room. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1430755895 The reason I set them all to 195 is because my TPS sensor is wonky. If I had a perfect TPS sensor then I would ramp up boost as TPS increased. Bias Duty Table: https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1430755895 Compared logs and found what duty cycle gives me 195 where ever I could. Another thing the dyno let me do is use the log to find the right settings in virtual dyno. I can match my log to the dyno output and then use that to see how these changes affect things. |
Also moved my overboost to 207kpa. Should keep my torque under ~200 if anything goes wrong.
|
And now you need to re-dyno.
|
I already know what power those boost numbers give me at specific rpms.
