Default Black Miata Build

I've been researching on this forum for over a year know and its about time I start my build thread. I bought a 1999 Miata this year and started my turbo build right away. My Goal is 350-400 hp. My list of parts and mods of phase 1:

Garrett gt3071r turbo
Artech full 3" exhaust and log mani
Flying Miata Happy Meal Super Size Clutch
AEM EMS
AEM Wideband
AEM Boost Gauge
Tial Wastegate
Greddy bov
DW 1000cc Injectors
DW Fuel Pump
Ebay Radiator
CXRacing Intercooler 29x9x3
Eibach Springs
Tokico Shocks
Godspeed sway bars
Hard Top

I'm just about finished, all I have to do is pipe in the hot side and load up the ems. I need some help with the aem ems. I loaded the software and would like some help with some base maps.

I will start phase 2 during the winter. Phase 2 parts List:

New Front Bumper
Pistons
Eagle rods
Port and Polished head

Most of us start out with the "I just want 200whp" mindset and have to work our way up. You jumped right into where most of us dream of being.

Seems like you've got everything pretty well taken care of. Looks like you've got the COPS which was going to be my first suggestion. Only thing I can think of is when you have the motor apart get a coolant reroute in there, and maybe buy a couple extra sets of tires b/c they won't last long, lol.

Can't wait to see some numbers on the beast. How much boost are you planning for before the motor is built?

Nice build, nice plans.

+1 on the reroute, if you're in up to your elbow, install a reroute.

My only question is, if you're going for 350-400hp, and I'm assuming you've done your reading, why not going with a better flowing manifold? Something along the lines of the original Absurdflow?

I was planning to start a small build but I know I would be spending more money if I started small then upgraded to a 400 hp set up. So I just jumped in and bought the bigger set up to avoid buying things twice. I plan on running 12 psi. I will get to the reroute in phase 2. I would love to get a new manifold but I'm poor after all the parts so far. LOL. Manifold during phase 2 ill add it to the draining my wallet list.

Helluva setup right out of the gate. Good job not cheaping out on the front side, you'll be way happier in the long run.

Piped in hot side and boost controller. Next map and ait sensors. Still need some help with a base map then I should be able to get this monster started.

I finished up the map sensor and ait sensor last night. I tried to start it but she won't start. The first injector is flooding the first cylinder. I thought it was the new injector but when I swapped out the new injector with my old injector it did the same thing. So I thought it was a pinched wire. Pulled the injector out again and it looks like it only grounds out when I plug the injector fuse in. I'll keep on testing but I'm ready to burn this thing.

That log mani should flow a lot more than a BEGI/FM log.

BTW, I guess you changed your mind about having the IWG on the 3071?

Dam thing still won't start. Plugged factory ecu and it runs so I know it's a tuning issue. I just started a new aem thread for some tuning help. Someone help!!!!
