It's just the size of the part, and there's no real structural rigidity. I'm pretty sure I've read posts from Abe and Tim about how you need to go, as said, slowly to avoid warping.
I do think that I also read that Abe clamps them together to help prevent it, might wanna look into that.

Also - I didn't weld mine while it was clamped because I welded them from the inside but I imagine that would help the warping.

Whenever I see pictures like the one of your welds and the one of the little battery box, I feel the same way that I do when I see someone post a really nice photograph they took and then spent time processing:
I am at first envious and think that I would like to be able to do that. But then I realize I am not willing or able to commit the time and resources to make it happen.
In other words, nice job.

I used them on my hood. They were great until some dick hole at a meet popped them and let me drive off like that. The subsequent drive home with a bent hood trying to pull them out of the fender skirts like a parachute. Turns out I'm too trusting a person, and strangers really will walk up and touch your car.

Probably the same weight maybe a pound or two less.. I'm not doing this for weight though, if anything I could use some weight above the rear wheels. But I need something more reliable, high power fans, increased amperage spark system.. Looking for reliability.
