These cars are incredible deals for track rats.

It is very clean and a somewhat fresh rebuilt 13b with newer housings, but as much as I think I want it, I don't think an FC is really what I want. If FD's weren't a million dollars I'd already have one but I always liked RX8s. I just wish the renesis was easier to make power with. I've become used to the amenities provided by newer cars and the modern interior look.

There are like 5 non running RX8s near me all for 2-3k and I'm very tempted. The only thing stopping me is I've never rebuilt a rotary, I know nothing about the renesis ones, and I don't know how much it would cost to rebuild.

I was browsing this thread all bored, and then I see this post and the boost parts included, and all of a sudden I'm excited

Don't be. All he does right now is waffle about which body kit to buy. He's leaning towards rocket bunny right now.

I wouldn't buy an FC unless you're either building a drift car or you're a die hard rotary enthusiast. Or any rotary car for that matter. And the FD is nicknamed "Financial Disaster" for a reason. That being said I'm saving to buy an FD in about 2 or 3 years when I can import a RHD one.

Also don't buy a blown up RX-8. It's not super cheap to rebuild but honestly with the stock engine, even if you boost it, they're kind of ****. Amazing chassis and handling, but no power, terrible fuel mileage and you're lucky to see more than 80k miles out of an engine. They're not light enough to get away with only having 180WHP, which is what you'll see even with bolt ons.

Oh and @18psi, Aidan is trying to get better at trolling here, I know he's not doing a very good job but we'll see if he makes some improvements. I'm getting the AIT widebody but using a different front bumper. I'll be able to fit 315mm tires all around with 18x12" wheels. Kit will include all four carbon fiber doors, carbon fiber roof, carbon fiber trunk, (I skipped the CF hood because the aluminum is lighter), front and rear overfenders, front and rear bumpers, and sideskirts. I'm getting a killer deal on it so aesthetics is kind of taking a backseat but it's not half bad.

This is a drift car with most of the parts, my wheel/tire combo will fill it out a bit more but you get the idea.

All these cheap RX-8s for sale make great LS3 candidates.

I don't know if it's the actual engine swap and raw/instant power delivery, or just the type of person that usually does an LS swap for a track car, but if you've been to a lot of track events, chances are cars like that are slow as ****.

If you want a V8 track car, go buy a Corvette.

Yep, C6Z is a serious machine and they can be had for 30 grand now, which would only be a couple grand more than a properly done LS swap.

I bet those guys are slow cause the car is 200% more capable than their driving skills.

I know, cause that's the case with me and my cars

If everyone hasn't noticed, this build is kind of a gigantic middle finger, and I'm trying to do things in a way that haven't quite been done before, or at least that I know of. E85 is a godsend for rotary engines for multiple reasons, mainly a massive help in controlling coolant and oil temps, but EGT is a huge killer of these things as well when you're getting to north of 500WHP. That combined with a dry sump system and nitrous to make up for the gigantic turbo should be something to be reckoned with, and still have reliability be on par or better than most 600WHP four cylinder time attack cars.

These are the cars that I'm gunning for in the long run:

Vengeance Racing C6Z with sequential trans
FXMD NSX

I know, not a whole lot of updates or progress. When I got promoted at work I went to night shift and it's been killing me. Have only been able to manage to sleep for about 3 to 5 hours a day no matter what I do, so I'm a zombie all the time now.

Thought I would post because these showed up along with the rest of the body kit and they are super ******* cool. Front door is 16.5lbs and rear door is 11.4lbs. I think between all of the doors, going from stock to this is more than 200lbs of weight savings. Not pictured, complete widebody kit to fit 18x12" wheels and 315mm tires, carbon fiber roof, and carbon fiber trunk. Stock hood is already aluminum and of comparable weight to wet carbon hoods so I skipped that.
