97, FM Manifold, SR20 T25, FM downpipe, ISR circuit exhaust, FM clutch(to be installed), RX8 yellow injectors, AEM wideband, AEM FIC and/or MSPNP1. (I know I'm gonna get a lot of shit for this but I'll explain, I already had the FIC from another project, and picked up the MSPNP1 for a song after I already had the FIC hooked up)

I flushed the crap out of the engine for at least half an hour. I put in a cheap ebay aluminum radiator and replaced the cas o-ring and valve cover. Then I got an ebay and facebook groups and made more bad decisions. T25 and FM Manifold. The t25 didnt have much play, but I rebuilt this anyway. This may have been premature as I will elaborate later. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1462390845 I picked up an FM1 Intercooler system from a local group member, not realizing that it was more setup for a 1.6 as the inlet manifold pipe was cocked and I tried mounting it up anyways. I don't like it and its not on the car currently. A giant hail storm was supposed to be coming through that evening, and my wife's car being the expensive one, I hurried and drove the car out with the wastegate wired open and parked it. The storm passed without any damage, but I had possibly blown a seal on the turbo as the drain line was kinked and oil had to go somewhere, out the exhaust from the turbo as it was. https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1462390845 "I can use AN fittings cause they're COOL!" I threw a timing belt a block from the house. They are supposed to be non-interference, but there has been recent evidence to suggest that they may not be.

Curiousity I have been reading was all on BP4Ws and later.. BP05 not so sure.

So I'm at the point where I need to order new intercooler piping and an intercooler. I think after searching and reading all the threads I could find the most common size seems to be 28x7x2.5 bar&plate with 2.5 inlet/outlet. My turbo's outlet is 2" so I'm thinking of just using a 2.5->2.0 coupler on the outlet for the compressor. I don't have power steering but I do have AC and Im not sure if that size piping will not be possible.
This intercooler: 2 5" Inlet Outlet Bar and Plate Universal Intercooler 28"x7"X2 5" | eBay This piping kit or something similar. 2 5" 63mm Polished Aluminum Intercooler Pipe Kit Blackred Hose Clamp Universal | eBay The only other option I think I have is either to get something fabricated locally (North Dallas) or buy FM's kit. I should be able to add 1" bungs to that piping pretty easy right? (copper barbs?) |
