All the fueling hardparts showed up today, went ahead and swapped in the fuel pump, gotta figure out where I am going to be placing everything so that I can determine what fittings I will need. Fuel system SHOULD be complete here very soon, ID1000s should be here Friday.

The one thing I can say I already dislike about the flex fuel sensor is it doesnt have anything to mount it with. Not sure why, but I was under the impression that it had little holes on the casing that allowed for it to be secured to something, not a huge deal, just being picky.

AEM fuel pressure regulator
AEM flex fuel sensor
DW300 fuel pump
DW 110mm 10 micron fuel filter
ID1000s inbound

Why are you using the AEM flex fuel sensor over the GM one? Mostly just curious.

No reason in particular to be honest, it appealed to me that it all came together, fittings, connector/pins ect. And I get it all for a good price so it wasnt TOO expensive.

It should be fine. It's just a rebadged OEM part. Both types of sensors are still made by conti. Just add your favorite $10 SAE to AN adapters

That's the "mini" GM/Continental sensor that unfortunately doesn't have holes (13577429 is one PN), unlike the slightly bigger one (13577394). It looks super tidy with the tiny size though!

Here is a mount for the small flex fuel sensor: MOUNT for AEM 30-2200 - Ethanol Content Flex Fuel Sensor | eBay

Should be something pretty easy to fab up if you wanted to. (or, maybe not. Looks like it clips in).

It should be easy to fab up because that's 3D printed.

The bigger gm ones have holes for mounting. That one is just a marked up AEM one.

One of these days I will own or have access to a decent 3D printer... Still too much of a learning curve for me right now. (how to select materials, how to choose the right printer, etc).

New plug wires and injectors showed up this weekend, Plug wires courtesy of @TheBandit !! Solid looking wires that fit pretty damn well. Only point of contention which is really a non issue is the fitment between coils, its a tight fit, but if you simply dismount one side of the bracket it allows all the room needed to get these plug wires connected to the coils. I took the wire separators and on the front one, cut 2 of the slots out, and on the rear one cut one of the slots off to keep them cleanly mounted.

So given that the Racepak IQ3 was sort of an afterthought during the early stages of this build, and I was unfamiliar with standalone/ IQ3 integration. My objective more than anything was to have a gaugeless interior, ive had cars with numerous gauges before, and I wanted a more sleek appearance of the interior, so an IQ3 was a no brainer. Unfortunately I am only just now realizing that the EMS4 just isnt designed for the type I/Os that I need to display the data properly to the IQ3. So I have decided to sell the EMS4 and I will be replacing it with the Haltech Elite 1500. At SEMA this year Haltech released their new PNP harness for the Miata which hopefully will be available soon, although Boomslang does also offer a PNP harness.

Soo, someone buy my EMS4...

I just went through the same headache. The dash I wanted (IQ3S) wasnt compatible with my ecu. So I just bought one that was:-) AIM Motorsport MXL Strada Dash Display | Demon Tweeks

edit: That dash was $950 taxed and shipped. Arrived in TWO DAYS from the uk

Works great with CAN from my hydra. It also works with all AEM EMS via RS232 Serial Protocol. Just an idea

His is the EMS4, which is not the same thing as the AEM EMS.

Getting rid of the ems4 is a good idea. I've never seen anyone actually long term happy with that ecu, it simply doesn't compete with what we have available now.

The issue is not the dash selection, its the outputs available from the EMS4, it will not be able to output any of the useful information i would like displayed on the dash rendering the IQ3 virtually useless and a waste of money/ effort.

And the Haltech has cool things like 2 step and antilag

Does the EMS 4 really not have anti lag or 2 Step. I don't think I've ever seen an aftermarket ECU that didn't have those

How about a MS3 from Braineack and then the adapter DIY sells to make it work perfectly with the Iq3S.

It really is. Like the adaptronic, it never really caught on, because it was one of those "in between" ecu's that came out when the ms2 was still just being figured out, no ms3 was even being discussed yet, and there was a need for something better than ms1 or hydra. Neither of them had much support, and neither of them had much development, so they just kinda went stagnant. You can see this happening with the silly hydra now too, it's gonna be history soon and no one even really considers those (well, those of us that are not living in the 1990's like some m.netters)

If I were self-tuning, I wouldn't even consider anything aside from ms3.
