Have you seen the efr wastegate chart? Low boost actuator will still get you to ~14psi for full open. Only way to keep less than that is a turbosmart single with 3psi spring or even better dual port.

Stop this nonsense. He will be fine with the BW LWG actuator.

Just make sure the tune is set up to accommodate the occasional boost overshoot.

Bent the wastegate actuator bracket maybe a degree or two and it slides muuuch better. It didn't hit overboost in 2nd this morning, which is an improvement.

Maybe I'll get a VD this afternoon. I'm hoping for 180whp or so at 8psi that I'm hoping it holds through 3rd/4th.

Fml, overboosts still.

I will precede to fill 7 more pages with overboost subjects.

Otherwise, car is stupid amounts of fun. And nothing has actually broken yet. I still get that weird constant (while at like 0-1psi) whistle that totally sounds like a boost leak just haven't traced it down yet.

Hoping this is enough. I can't regulate my air pump to just like 10psi, but the on board gauge is garbage and says it is at least under 20psi.

Sound doesn't work for me, but watching the rod go back and forth made me feel gay enough, that the fetching Mrs. Dallas is getting worried.

Yeah I don't think the sound works for anybody..

Annnnd, I think my motor needs some love. Even from day one it VD at 84whp peak...and I'm too ashamed to post what it is with a 7psi from ~3k and then creeps steadily up to ~10psi by 6500rpm. They results are completely underwhelming.

Today was a damn good day.

I'm about 98% sure the wastegate is aligned now. Holds 8-9psi until redline in lower gears.

Motor hasn't exploded

EBC made the EFR into a MONSTER on the low end. Before, I'd make 5psi by 3.5krpm and then like 8psi by 4.5krpm. With EBC closed loop (barely tuned but still works great, need to do bias table) it makes 140kpa by 2300rpm and I don't even have to be WOT. And 160kpa by I think 3krpm.

Also, quick question that I don't think deseves it own thread. In closed loop, it hits target and then oscillates roughly ~0.5psi, which value should i try messing with to get it to settle in on 1 value? I'm at 100/40/80 right now and sensitivity of 280.

It looks like you need to clock the bracket slightly higher, the left side of the shaft has quite a vertical range and you can see on the right side that the top of the shaft has rubbed/ground against the wastegate actuator housing when it's in the full-reach position (it's probably ground down enough now to NOT bind as badly as it did before).

ie. the shaft is not just moving back, it's moving back and slightly upward.

If I clock the compressor side 1mm or so higher, then it won't thread on loosely, but if it threads on loosely, like you said, it seems to need to bend upwards as the stroke increases. That leads me to believe the wastegate actuator bracket is somehow bent out of shape just slightly.

I had to bend my wastegate bracket to fit.

Increase the I term to help get rid of oscillation.
