It has sat for 3 years so surely that means it is well rested and ready to cruise along, behaving like a normal car and not breaking down in kalamazoo because of some ridiculous hideously impractical mod that the owner forcibly made and re-made to the poor once functioning automobile.

I would post a shitty video but the car is full of 3 year old gas and that is excellent for sad sad videos. Will be driving miata tomorrow tho to suss out the car's character and figure out what else I should mod before I leave on friday.

In retrospect I do have to say that I find it strange that I built this car to actually start performing like a real turbo car at around 80mph.

Ok question.

Sometimes my fuel is just fine. Then the next gear the car goes progressively lean to redline. And by lean i mean from 11.7 rising to 15:1.

What do you think could cause this? Assume a mechanical issue.

Fuel pump death? Clogulated filterator? Regulator masticator?

Does this magnificent beast have a fuel pressure gauge?

4 things:
  1. Camera in the engine bay on the gauge. Do a pull, watch the video
  2. Add a 4 foot hose extension between the regulator body and gauge. Gaff tape gauge to windsield, do a pull.
  3. At idle, disconnect the vacuum line from the regulator and feed air pressure into the regulator boost reference port with a highly regulated pressure source. Watch gauge for 1:1 rise.
  4. Move oil pressure sender from block to regulator body, do a pull, watch for pressure rise.

That's just off the top of mah head. Hope it helps or spurs some innovation

Ensure rising Fuel Pressure via one of Gordon's numerous methods.

Can't remember your Fuel Pump wiring. Dual 044s making your voltage sad?

Still squirting meth? Is that flowing correctly?

If in series, I could see one non-functional pump acting as a massive restriction. I would imagine its not fun to suck/push fuel through a dead pump.

If in parallel, would one non-functional pump act like a return? IDK what happens when you try to pump fuel backwards through a fuel pump.

But yes, if dual, regardless of the configuration make sure they are both working.

IIRC they are parallel in-tank

What's your base fuel pressure Fae? Wasn't there a lengthy discussion about how you're running like 80psi base? (like around page 58 or something?)

Pumps just sucking up top?
