I thought i went pretty conservative on the preload as well, but alas... I'd say it was a tank of gas or two after the coil went so maybe 1500mi?

I'll have to keep the coil thing in mind, if it takes an aftermarket solution to be reliable longer term, then that's the way I will go. Hoping the one failure was a freak thing.

Are you running closed loop EBC? I haven't got there yet, I'm pretty happy w/ open loop since my main goal was limiting part throttle boost.

The bump of this thread brought it back to life in the Build Threads section and reading through this was great! Just wanted to say great car/setup and reading through this helped motivate me with my slow-but-steady build (maybe I should start a build thread...). Took a while but I finally got a bottom end together haha.

In that album you showed a metal undertray, is that custom or from a vendor? I really need to replace my ratty looking plastic one. And did you run with no power steering at all before putting on the electric kit? I have been considering getting rid of mine but I am still not 100% sure and have been reading up on all the opinions on here.

Hello, yes the undertray is from LRB and I think is a nice piece: https://lrbspeed.com/product/na-miat...num-belly-pan/

Takes some cutting to make it work with your charge piping but after that the tray itself separates independent from the sides. Easier than OEM.

I did run for a bit with no power steering and hated it. Haters will say lift some weights but f that noise it was an elbow killer and was just unpleasant.

It's great keeping power steering and having a tidy hotside!

Thank you for the info, I am going to have to order one of those myself.

Maybe I will play around with some sort of reversible mod to my PS until I decide to splurge on that ePowersteering kit.
