What? I haven't listened to the full 949 podcasts that came out a few days ago. Is that where that is talked about?

hornetball 12-02-2016 10:14 PM

Yep. It seems like E is trying to link up SuperMiata races with WRL. A lot of folks in WRL already run Miatas that are SuperMiata-"like."

Chilicharger665 12-03-2016 02:22 AM

Well, I have a beat 01 that would be a great race car! Too bad my work schedule would never allow me to actually race lol

Mobius 12-05-2016 04:52 PM

Obvious answer is obvious!

Midtenn 12-06-2016 12:57 PM

Sounds like if WRL sticks it out for a year or two, there will have quite a well subscribed Super Miata series on their hand.

If things go as planned, in 2018 there will be a full national schedule made up of regional championships and a single one day national championship event at a premiere facility. WRL is not in the PNW or far NE yet. Excluding those regions we will stretch from Florida to Pennsylvania, Colorado to Texas to California. I for one, would make the tow to the midwest for 2018 nats.

That's great to hear. I double I will be a serious competitor starting off due to build budget (and needing to get a comp liscense), but I look forward to competing maybe in late 2017-2018 time.

Here's the motor I destroyed over the Summer. Rebuilding it as a spare.

No pictures yet but I think Pat is right. When I was checking my valve clearances I found a spot that is difficult to turn past. It almost completely jams and I needed a huge cheater bar to spin past every revolution. Something is clearly making contact in the bottom end. I am surprised that the starter had no problem spinning it up to speed.

sonofthehill 08-09-2017 07:25 PM

Oh dang, wrong thread, how'd that happen. Sorry.

TarkMalbot 09-18-2018 09:14 AM

Well those 28 pages were an interesting way of avoiding work. Took longer to read than the silver build thread and that's with the fact my work have banned Youtube so couldn't watch any of the videos. Has much happened over the last 12 months?

Just driving the heck out of it. I pulled the aero off the car because of my penchant for using all the track (plus a little bit more). Got tired of replacing splitters.

I also built a new garage and got myself a new project to work on (1969 Lotus 61):

Wow that looks amazing, Both the car and the garage! Glad to here the engine lasts more than 20 hours now. :)

Been kind of quiet.

Got the opportunity to drive the new Eagle's Canyon Raceway configuration. It's sweet!

Looks like a blast! Are those corner speeds on 200TW? Need to figure out a weekend to get up there for sure.

hornetball 11-26-2019 06:59 AM

I was running RS-4s. Despite the noise, they still looked nearly new at the end of the weekend (8 20-30 minute sessions). RS-4s seem to be the 200TW that actually ARE 200TW.

hornetball 11-09-2020 01:29 PM

Oh no! I added some patina to the nose!

Fireindc 11-09-2020 06:56 PM

That's an awesome video, could have been so much worse! That looks like so much fun.

turbofan 11-09-2020 07:40 PM

Yikes. Should have backed out of that one! Avoidable contact.

Arca_ex 11-10-2020 12:11 AM

Big yikes.

Got lucky on that one, video is crazy haha.

Whenever I go offroading, the two things I'm thinking about most is reducing throttle to almost neutral and trying to just keep the wheel straight. Any big inputs by hands or feet usually end up making it worse once you're in the dirt/grass.
