The shelf has been Welded and sealed with JB. Also painted to prevent rust.
Down pipe clearance is good to go. I did have an issue with the coolant pipe from the mixing manifold leaking due to bending the coolant pipe and not making the pipe sit even with the mixing manifold surface. Straighten that part out and put in a new oem o ring and no leaks.

Final exhaust set up painted with VHT very high temp paint. That is a Dynomax 17267 Exhaust Muffler
Gauges in and working. Currently not building boost due to leaking from compressor housing because when I removed the internal waste gate I didn't put the bolts back in that hold the compressor housing to the chra.
Got the car to start with not much of an issue except for having my plug wires in the wrong sequence and that took me 4 hours to figure out. Yes, Sad
Got it to Idle around 1000 rpm after playing with idle settings. No where near done tuning wise. Currently studying up on mega squirt tuning. Going through all the mega squirt tuning sticky's is helping a lot. If you have any other recommended sources let me know!
Sold the car it was fun while it lasted. I was fortunate enough to get all the money back I put into the car.
It just didn't make financial sense to hold on to the car in the Midwest, not to forget that I'm 18 without a daily. The thought of having to pay for future upgrades and tunes and maybe even a catastrophic failure wasn't worth the stress. (Thanks Dave Ramsey)
I'm also going into my first year of college this fall at my local community college studying engineering and transfering over to a 4 year U to obtain a bachelors degree in ME (I've been an engineering intern at HydraForce inc. the past two summers). Tuition free the first two years along with a couple book scholarships making the first two years of my post HS education essentially free living from home. Yes, that frees up money but its money that can be saved/invested and not used on such a hobby at this point in my life.
Tremendous thanks to the community on this forum, it was a fun time and I learned a lot. I'll probably come back here in a couple years and start a build again when I'm financially stable with money to burn. Maybe some young noobs would benefit from seeing this post and really deciding if its truly worth the time. Dont get me wrong it was fun but if I had to do it all over I would wait till I was stable in life.
Now whos got some good daily driver recommendations? Looking into a toyota Matrix

Solid decision, you're setting yourself up for success. These cars will still be here in a few years for you to come back to if you want. I'm happy that I didn't discover this hobby until I was older and had some disposable income. Reading the build threads here can make you feel like you're missing out on the fun, but I suspect that the demographic of posters here skews older and therefore typically higher on the income scale. A lot of posters own homes with garages for example. At that stage in life it's fine to buy some race car parts guilt free and just enjoy the hobby for what it is.
