So will this be a project or just a daily?

Cause if its a project I just don't understand how the **** going 1.6 and old body style will solve any of his problems.

Wish they could ship that without beating it up too bad for under a grand.... would ditch this NA chassis in a heartbeat for that, minus the ugly front bumper. Glass bumper = broken bumper around here.

?????

So what really happened to your motor? Several times, I have thought that my motor was toast. If you remember, my motor actually sounded like yours due to two separate issues- cam gear and timing plate.

Did you forget to run oil?

It's pretty easy when the bearing clearances are incorrect.

Jared I am sorry to see this happen man. I was hoping things would go better this time around for you.

Detonation raises cylinder pressure to a point where the bearings can get hammered. Would like to know what oil pressure looked like. I don't recall seeing a true oil pressure gauge in any of LF's in cars, but I may be mistaken. Would also like to see what the pistons look like. I'm on my phone and can' t find details of the tune. I also remember mention of compressor surge, a week or two back. Was that ever resolved or did you just flat foot through it in true LG style??

Really sorry to see the failure. Hope you have good luck with the cafe racer

Spun bearings on newly assembled motors is a more common phenomenon with the new reformulation of motor oils (removal of ZDDP). I added a bottle of supplement to the last new engine I built for this reason. Zinc and phosphorus form a barrier to protect the metal from contact when the oil film breaks down under extreme pressure. This is most critical at break-in or if you lose oil pressure.

Sorry about the run of bad luck. Are you still going to try to go to the MegaMeet?

Name of supplement? Do you add it at every oil change?
