Levnubhin's build/re-build thread
I'm bored and I've never had a build thread so wtf.
I first bought my Miata for $2000 in Nov 06. It was bone stock with 170k on the clock.
I had a set of 16" wheels that I wasn't using so I put them on the Miata. Mind you this was before I knew anything about these little cars. Those wheels weighed 25 lbs without tires.
I also added a Home depot lip, ricer hood spacers and a tokico illumina suspension kit.
Shortly after that I met Rich (soflarick). He taught me about wheels weights and then sold me his Konig Heliums with 205/50 RS2's on them. I also added a roll bar, an ebay cat back and a "DIY cold air intake" and FM sway bars.
Then I met a fella we know as Hyper and bought this from him.
I diy'd my own piping and ran an begi afpr with the timing retarded to 6*.
Car was over heating so in went a Godspeed rad and eventually got some slim fans.
Then I got into the MS world. Got an MS from Brain, Tuner toys fuel rail and 550's
Added an R lip at some point
At some point I installed ground control coil overs and a racing beat hollow front sway bar.
Custom 3" exhaust.
In went the hood scoop from carbontrix
Then Savington put a set of 6UL's up for sale so I had to snag them. Also added a mini cooper scoop to the front bumper and a black stripe down the front.
Then the motor went, so I had it rebuilt using Eagle rods, weisco pistons, arp heads and mains and a cometic head gasket. Sorry no pics of that.
The my Gt2554 took a **** so I went with an ebay turbo. I ordered what I thought was a 2860. When I got it I measured everything and the specs put it closer to a 2871 (profit!)
M-tuned BBK, also put in a prop valve from the FM group buy.
Picked up a used FM hood and Axxis power trunk lid.
CSpence bumper scoop
Took it to the dyno at 17 psi.
Got bored with 17 psi so I installed a devils own WI kit and cranked boost up to 22psi.
I'm bored with 280 whp so I had Wayne Curr make me a new Mani and DP. Dyno numbers coming soon.
There's plenty of other little **** that Ive done like valve cover painting, torsen swap etc. But this is the major ****.

See, now that actually looks nice in your trunk.
I hope you've got a real amp for it. My little bridged Pioneer wasn't quite up to the task, but it was still nice.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I forgot to add pillow stuffing to the box when I mounted the sub. If you ever want deeper sound you can take that route, and maybe put some weatherstripping down on the sub-surround too. I usually do that stuff, but slapped that together in a hurry one day.
