Decided to try some EBC tuning today in open loop. My day got cut short after doing a pull and hearing something dragging.

Remember to double check and torque important ****! I limped it home and torqued the rest down.

I was targeting around 10psi or 170kpa in the top cells. It still needs a lot of work especially with fuel, and finding the RPM sweet spot for keeping the wastegate shut as long as possible. Once I fine tune this I'll start messing with CL boost.

I've done that before. Sounds like 10 feet of chains being dragged behind your car.

As soon as I heard it I thought it was one of the heat shields I had just put on. When I peeked underneath I was pretty spooked to say the least. Luckily, the road I pulled off on had a slight drop off where the shoulder meets the road, and I was able to reach the bolt and hand tighten.

I think when I had to drop the trans for the second time I rushed to get it back together and just relied on my impact. The 4 remaining PPF bolts were roughly the same and nowhere near the factory torque specs...

Well I’ve been noticing some smoke and smelling it from the exhaust. It appears my chra was a little saturated looking so I started poking around. Didn’t look like my oil drain, unless some of the high temp rtv was blocking the drain. I also had some oil in my compressor side, but haven’t been getting any oil in my separator. So I took off my oil feed line and looked at the “restrictor”. I searched the forum and realized I should be running a lot smaller one than I had installed.

I basically assembled the parts that I got from FM. So I’m not sure why they supplied me with the one I’ve been using. I ordered a .035 restrictor from ATP. So I hope that clears things up.

I have to get a few things sorted out before MATG. One being my tune. I’ll most likely take it somewhere to get fine tuned. The other is the engine temp got pretty high today cruising at with the a/c on. Might have to mess with the fan settings or maybe look into upgrading them. The car seems to stay fine with no a/c though.

I did a thing today. I started my day off at Walfart for supplies. This was the end result after a few hours and a few beers.

Nothing fancy but it’s better than the gaping holes that were there before. I’ll take it for 5 bucks.

Also had a visitor stop by to oversee my work.

I installed some new fans last week from FM which is their stage 2 kit with shroud. Build all the things in stages! Right subie guys.. The install went pretty smoothly but the shroud did need some massaging to live with the Supermiata rad. I cut the plugs off the old fans so I can remove them easily next time around.

While I had the coolant drained I replaced the lower silicone rad hose at the block in hopes of eliminating a small irritating leak. I read a Revlimiter blog where he had success with this Tbolt. I think because of the angle and the hose being a tad on the large slide it’s prone to a leak more than any other location. I hate the smell of hot coolant.

I only took the car out for one drive but when the fan would kick on the temp would drop pretty quickly watching the makehersquirt dashboard. Still have some testing to do to she what this setup is capable off. If all goes well this should conclude the cooling mods - reroute, rad, fans and ghetto ducting!

I went to MATG for my first time and had a great time! The drive to and from was long, but Jcoupe and our buddy Zach made the drive bearable. There is a lot of driving to be had once we arrived, and the roads along with their condition made for enjoyable spirited runs that I hope I can revisit next year. Meet lots of MT guys such as Ben, Marcus, Cameron, Steve, Dan etc. that were full of car talk and knowledge. I was nervous about the whole trip but my car did fantastic and didn’t have any issues. Any ways here’s a few pics from the trip.
