Running a BP5A JDM ECU while it's NA until I can get an MS3Pro and install the turbo kit.

Unfortunately, my body harness plug pins had already been taken out of their plug previously. So I cut the pigtail off the JDM BP5A harness and mateD it to it.

All soldered together and shrink wrapped!

Finished product.

Time to tackle this mess...

Tidying up the wiring/hose routings and installing the battery.

Finally on the ground and ready to bleed the clutch & brake, add engine oil & coolant then fire it up and set the fuel pressure!

All buttoned up and ready for a test drive!

Cockpit

Like the sticker? Haha

Well the first actual drive out on the street didn’t go so well. Come to find out the alternator wasn’t charging. I had to hitch a ride home to get the tow rig...

After about 5 hours of wiring diagnosis, we came to find out that grey/red alternator wire from the pcm to the alternator was not a complete circuit. Re-wired that and now we’re charging! Car runs pretty well, but it needs a muffler!

I replaced the upper control arms, lower ball joints, tie rod ends and wheel bearings today and we did an alignment at work. Went fairly conservatives for now. Drives much more stable and composed. I’m hoping to go on my first longer drive this week, maybe on New Years Day. So far I’ve just been driving the quick 5 miles back and forth to work.

It's a blast. The limits on a back road are pretty darn high. I cant wait to do some events. It's going to be a handful once I add boost.

Towed the car out to a wet cars and coffee this past weekend. It was fun to get out and about with it, even if I couldn't do any driving. I hoping to get the car down to my buddy's fab shop this week to have him do up a custom straight through exhaust. I have a 16" SS Milltek resonator that I'll have him use. Going to do the exhaust with no muffler, just the resonator in prep for the turbo setup in a few months.

What shop are you taking it to for the exhaust?

RISE FAB SHOP
Chris Miller did it for me. His fabrication skills are great. I asked him to do a budget friendly exhaust using part of the stock down pipe for now. I think it came out pretty neat. The Milltek resonator is definitely a quality piece, sounds really good. He TIG'd a cool end section/tip to the system to give it a little curb appeal.
