Got them put in today and even at 30-40mph its like having a normal ac vent on full blast right at my chest. They move a lot of air its really nice.

Got a pic? Any issue with the Lexan cracking near the screws? They come unassembled, right?

Edit: I see the pic now - looks awesome!

Came un assembled. Very easy to do. No cracks or anything but I learned on the spoiler to go until they just bairly touch and no lock washers.

Man, I have no AC, and I'd love a duct like this, but I'm afraid of the loss of the appearance of security, and water resistance. I chose those terms carefully.

I have one of the pop vent windows in mine. Works super well. I can only imagine how well that one works. For you guys who still do topless, the cool breze scoop works amazingly.

If I was concerned about water resistance i would get the below. I found a thread on these somwhere that sadfab was making and they preform good just not quite as good as the naca vent but seals out water. As for security i just wrote that off on the car since its so easy to get into and nothing in there is worth taking.

I got my windows in yesterday. Did you add any sealant between the vents and the windows?

Nope I just bolted together and ran it without sealant.

Update on the NACA window ducts and they are great. We had a few days here in the 90s and the car sat in the sun most of the day at work. The vents cleared most of the super hot air out of the cabin in a block or so then when i got home i was only kinda warm instead of sweaty from having no A/C

Recieved this update picture on my manifold yesterday from Matt at Hellafab I am beyond stoked for this!

basically the most wild Miata setup.

This thing is gonna be gnarly

Two things this morning in priority.

1. Went to take the car to work this morning and had a battery light on which always leads me to a bad alternator. But isnt there a fuse that in our cars that if blown will cause the same issue. Car starts and runs but idle was shittier than usual.

2. Does anyone have a 1.6 alternator they want to just get rid of. Otherwise i might just cut the summer short and start swapping the fun parts in.

2.5. Could low voltage cause a severely poor idle with fans on.

shlammed 08-15-2018 10:52 AM

yes, low voltage can make it run badly.... especially so if your injector data is bad for low voltages.

Scaxx 08-15-2018 10:54 AM

I've got a couple extras if you want one of them, I could bring it down to work tomorrow if you wanted to pick it up. I work at ARB in Auburn

matrussell122 08-15-2018 10:57 AM

That would be awesome!

Scaxx 08-15-2018 10:57 AM

Sounds good, I'll bring it tomorrow

Found this today. Might get one to go with the motor swap to have simple clean wiring. and have multiple spare circuits.
