Moffitt's First Miata Build
The Car:
I picked up a 94 Miata M Edition 1.8L, Montego Blue with the Nardi wood grain shift **** and e-brake handle, aluminum sill plates, Torsen LSD and all the other M edition features...
With a clean title
For $400
The catch was...the genius before me welded the timing belt cog onto the crankshaft.
So it was decided to begin a project/build.
My Desired Goal is 300 WHP and a matching if not more than 300 WTQ with a 1.8L
PICTUREESS!!

Ok its time to catch up...
Well so far I've aquired the block shell and crankshaft.

Took them both to G&G Performance Engines just outside Tomball,TX to hot tank both of them and also have the crank polished.
I also decided to have the cylinders bored .40 over to 84 mm
Heres the block after the hot tank and .40 over bore:

Alright so the engine build has come to a TEMPORARY stop due to starting a new job, However I went to the machine shop to pick up my block shell and crankshaft. After I arrived he informed he he also decked the block .005"
NOW....Im not coming to a complete halt on everything. While I am waiting for the right time to aquire the bottom end assembly, It's time to start the wire tuck

If you're going to pause for a while, make sure you keep that block oiled up and covered. Don't want it rusting.
Your car is going to be sweet. I still can't get over $400.

Oh yea lol, and I already got it smothered in WD-40 and double bagged on my engine stand, along with the crankshaft as well
The walls were bored just under 84mm. When I get my pistons and give them to my machinist, he will hone the walls to the clearance spec that he sees fit. And also I am going to have the top and skirts coated
Make good progress tonight with beginning the wire tuck, a couple buddies stopped by to lend a helping hand on removing the dash and pulling the harness through the firewall.

Dash Removed

Jon Pulling the harness through the fire wall

BLEECGHGH!! DISGUSTING!!

Ug. Doing that would net me around 10 lbs of wiring that's stuck behind the heater core, but I still haven't done it. That's how much I'm not looking forward to it. As soon as a wire tuck requires me to drain the coolant I'm uninterested.
