Most likely starting a new build...

Here it is as I picked it up, gas station picks yo! Anyways, it is a '95 with supposedly 115K on it. The transmission was locked in reverse. The body is pretty good except for the fact that the guy started molding in the body line with fiberglass. The interior is non existent except for seats and a steering wheel, not even a dash. The previous owner also started to cut out the rear shelf to put in a roll cage, but I can buy that panel for $90. I fixed the transmission in 10 minutes after I drug it home. It seems to run and drive great. Here is a list of the mods in the pic:

I do not get it. Why are you going to screw with the '90 when it is perfect?

How much did you pay for the '95?

The main reason is that I really hate my car being red and there is no good way to do a color swap without stripping the car completely anyway. If I am going to do that, then I might as well swap everything into a 5 year newer shell with half the miles.

The '90 is far from perfect. Mechanically it is close, but that is only because everything is new, but the body and paint show 238K of abuse. There are tons of dings and scratches. It looks good at 50' or 50 mph, but pretty rough when you get up on it.

I paid $1000 for the '95 with everything listed. My biggest obstacle is the dumbass that owned it before me cut most of the wiring harnesses behind the dash. If I can't sort that out easily, then I may abandon the swap and just repaint my red car.

your 90 looks pretty nice. I dont know if I would try to swap chassis'. That being said, sell me your garage vary hood lol.

I'd repaint the 90...why deal with the hassles of the new car? Scratch that, I'd keep the red...I kinda always liked the red on the miata.

Yep, nickel. The low profile headlights will be for sale probably this weekend. I am going to get a lot of the stuff cleaned up and photographed and should have a giant for sale thread soon.

Hmmm im feelin those 6UL's  what size tire are you running? Did you have to roll your fenders? EDIT: Is the car also lowered, if so how much?

205/50 Azenis, fenders are not rolled but probably would need to be for 225/45's. The car is lowered on Ground Controls and Konis. It is 11 5/8" in the front and 12 1/4" in the rear from hub center to fender lip.

Brian - nice find on that '95! You could easily part that out and make some quick cash - I just sold a JR header for $300, so that gets you 30% of the way there.

Your '90 is beautiful - if I were you I would keep it as is. Good luck with whatever route you go!

Fireindc 02-27-2010 06:12 PM

Your red car is way too sexy to part out..

sbrian2 02-27-2010 07:51 PM

Well after spending the day with the 'new' car, I have decided to sell it. It would just be way too hard to ever make it as nice as I would want it. I will be posting a for sale thread as soon as I scavenge the last of the good parts I want off of it. I will use the money I profit to do a few things to the red car to finish it off including a new paint job.
