So I spent all day yesterday addressing little issues here and there.

replaced stuck open 180* thermostat (more on what this entailed in a bit)

Put in a missing engine mount bolt, courtesy of Shibby

Cleaned and greased the socket and pushrod of the clutch slave cylinder it was SQUACKIN LIKE A BIATCH (oh so nice to have only the meek purr of a happy miata engine)

Aaaaand spent 5 hours driving too and from the hardware store and draining and filling the coolant!

Both! drain plugs in the supermiata radiator had completely seized and broken threads. I had to use a massive wrench to get them out, drilled and tapped for new thread inserts, and used m10x1.5 socket cap screws (8mm hex drive) with new thick o rings as replacements. I got myself a little firm. :) courtesy of sean at sadfab. i figure if i can move the diff up and down with one finger, 200wtq (2734wtq in first gear, good point patrick) probably does crazy things.

Glad to see you're doing what's needed to make sure that rear is firm and responsive.

Do you have them installed as well? I havent seen any before and after comparisons with the delrin two piece.

If its similar to the poly diff bushings, im excited. Hearing a small amount of diff noise really enhances the drive, on top of the performance benefits.

I

I went with the gwr ones because I'm a wimp when it comes to increasing drive line noise...

Mobius 04-05-2018 10:30 PM

I will have to double check but I believe mine are poly. What did you have before the delrin?

Edit: and, actually, give me your source for the delrins please.

I still have stock bushings.

Oops I thought I posted. Sadfab.

icantlearn 04-05-2018 11:15 PM

any reason you went with delrin over poly?

and how much were they? there is no price listed.

dleavitt 04-06-2018 09:35 AM

I have delrin diff bushings, honestly can't hear anything over all the other noises the car makes. :dunno:

Because poly sucks for diff bushings. I had the displeasure of installing them and Mazdacomp engine mounts at the same time on my MSM to replace old blown out oem stuff.

And then noticed absolutely zero difference other than a slight increase in diff whine transmitted into cabin. Driveline still felt like a loose floppy donger. I have not noticed a single modicum of increased driveline noise in poly vs. delrin in that location in every car i've built since.

I put delrin diff bushings in my DD.

aidandj 04-06-2018 10:01 AM

$60 for uppers.
$90 for lower and uppers.
Prices do not include shipping.

And yes. Delrin is betterer than polu

Mobius 04-06-2018 05:56 PM

Do they ship from Sean, or from you? If from Sean I'll add them to my hubs order.

aidandj 04-06-2018 06:05 PM

From Sean.

18psi 04-06-2018 06:17 PM

nadiA is only the sexy sales girl, sean does the actual work :giggle:

aidandj 04-06-2018 06:18 PM

This is true.

icantlearn 04-06-2018 07:07 PM

in what case would you not want the lowers? And how are the sadfab ones better than gs?

aidandj 04-06-2018 07:26 PM

Garage star doesn't sell lowers. Otherwise identical.

icantlearn 04-06-2018 07:32 PM

So whats the advantage to the lowers then? Just a tad more stiffness? :giggle:

No they are not identical. I made my flange quite a bit thicker like it should have been because I don't like to ignore geometry etc. My diff bushings are better in every way.
