Well everything's back together and seems my problem is solved. I'm not sure what really fixed the problem but my knocking transmission seems to be no more. I WILL NOT do this again without a lift. I'm getting to old to be rolling around on the cold ground hitting my head on jack stands and rolling out from under the car every 5 minutes because I need another tool!!..... lol!
I can however get the tranny out and reinstalled in about three hours which is partly due to Lars's v-band greatness on my exhaust. Now it's back to tuning and seeing what amount of boost I can hit without blowing something else up.

I've been saying the same thing about getting a lift and rolling around on my back and being too old for this $%{ for at least 5 years.

And last night I was rolling around on my back underneath the Miata...

Had a great day today. Weather was amazing for this time of year. 75 and sunny. Great day to do some tuning. Still staying conservative but starting to push it a little!!

This gives me some optimism to build a turbo motor because I do know how to set the timing

Default Sun out fun’s out!!!

Finally the weather is nice enough to get the car out and see what the new changes look like. Went for a quick run around town and she’s running great.

Default Heat Relief

Got around to installing my hood vents this weekend. I searched for a long time for something different that complimented the lines of the car and possibly saved some support structure under the hood. I found these on EBay and they were meant for an Evo but I really liked the way they looked so I pulled the trigger on them. I didn’t realize they were shipping from Japan so shipping took a while. They are made of heavy duty plastic and I hope the hot side doesn’t melt but if it does I have alternative plans in place already that will utilize the shape of the hole I cut out in the hood. I secured them from underneath using some small pieces of aluminum I cut from the pi fed I removed. It’s not the prettiest but it works. If all goes well and things don’t melt down I’ll go back in and make it look better. All in all I’m very happy with the way they turned out. I tried my best to position them in the most optimized position for low pressure while minimizing the amount of underhood structure I had to cut out.
