I think I can make this current flange work. I already cut up my lower rad hose, so I'll see what I can do for now. I've been a bit lazy since I've been busy with the 2011 Crossfit games so I haven't really put much effort into this during the last week. I'm still waiting for the oil/water lines, once that gets here I will probably start it all up.

Oh you had to ask...lol. That oil drain is 3/8NPT-1/2" barbed. By the time I realized there was 3/8NPT-5/8" barbed, it was too late. It didn't give me any issues with the old setup, but something I'm going to fix when I pull the engine after this season ...unless someone has a way to dissolve the JB Weld, I know fire will work, just not sure if I want to go there right now. Trust me, if I had knew a local aluminum welder or you lived nearby things would be totally different.

Actually all of this would be different if I had a plan from the get go. This NB was supposed to be a daily driver...that lasted about a month. I only bought this ECU because I was bored and stumbled on a group buy. I tried to sell this car so I could get a cheap NA to build on, but that didn't work.

I'm about to give up on USPS and start driving the car with no water to the turbo....or at least start it up. I've got everything assembled now but I'm without the new water lines. First track day is this Sunday. Hopefully the lines come before then so I can tune this thing again.

Ok, I've been home all day and can't get my mind off it. The turbo doesn't feel much different at this point, but it sounds a lot healthier. Video uploading. I'm always forgetting to reconnect the ECU ground, it always takes me like 20 minutes of head scratching trying to figure out why it sounds like a cammed V8.

Instead of getting a passenger race seat, I'm going to spend the money on a fire suppression system. I think I'd rather save me and the car than have a rare passenger complain about getting tossed around.

My car is a complete mess right now. Almost 6 months of dust and unfinishedness, see below?

This will probably be the prettiest it will ever be from this day on. Goodbye

Thanks, Pex

Here I am stroking it one last time before putting it away last year. It's just running off the DP.

And here is the first start....not really, but almost. Unless you want to see like 5 minutes of cranking to prime it all up. No idea what is wrong with the colour, I must have had some filter on it.

Notes to self:
- Secure oil drain
- Secure IC and piping
- Verify tie rods tightened
- Verify caliper/carrier torqued
- Torque wheel lug nuts
- Attach exhaust hanger
- Get water wetter
- Connect WB o2
- Connect gauge power/grounds
- Verify oil/coolant level

It's definitely worth the money. It's a lot louder than the FM exhaust, I can't image what it's going to be like with the WG open.

Slowly putting the interior bits back together. I was messing around doing a burnout on my driveway and had a massive backfire, pretty awesome. I forgot how rich my idle was, I miss the smell. April 1st cannot come soon enough (day that it goes back on insurance)

- Verify tie rods tightened
- Verify caliper/carrier torqued

I just went out for a quick deflowering of my EWG/open dump. What a ricer pipe. It made me giggle like a *** in a red convertible . Videos to come soon.

I'm pretty amazed at this 2871. It probably spools about 200rpm later than a 2560 I had and maybe 500rpm later than the T25. I'll get a better idea when I do some logging.

If you think you're going to remember to clamp that coolant hose later, forget about it. At least I put on an awesome steam show, video delayed

Kinda sucks, but I was solo and used my phone. Probably just as bad as Faeflowers and Leatherface's videos. Damn.

I'm giving it about 25%-35% throttle.

The manifold is also starting to turn really blue. Am I doing it wrong, bro?

It gets pretty unbearable even cruising at a normal pace after 10 minutes. I'll be carrying a box of ear plugs. I'm only running off the 10# WG spring right now.

I went out to get some gas and do a quick log to see where I'm at. This thing is way faster at 10psi than my old setup at 15psi. I don't know if I'm just not used to it, but the RPM line is a lot more vertical. I must reiterate that you should not fear the 0.86 GT2871R. Any loss in spool is soon forgotten by the impressive top end.

I just have to wait for the new ECU to arrive and then I'll be set to book some dyno time when I'm free. Sucks that I didn't have time to build the bottom end this year, now I'll have to tune it twice.

Finally got these in the mail today. I seriously envy anyone local to Abe and not having him shower your car with goodies.

sounds good man!

Ps, go over the manifold with some acetone and stainless wool, then clean it again with acetone and a lint free rag. then go drive it and you should get just normal coloration.

Overboost protection FTW.

Adaptronic has that right?

Overboost protection has saved my motor numerous times.
