I suppose I should start a build thread since I'll have the miata back from paint in a few days. Here's a couple pics of it when I first bought it:

It's a 96, bought with 114K miles on it for 2500. Not too bad of a deal IMO.
First thing I bought and installed:

I'm trying to read more on the subject of tuning, because I know nearly nothing about it. I can see that this will be a constant source of frustration already.
Moar goodies I've bought:
SR20 turbo

FM elbow, lower dp, and test pipe. Still looking for the rest of the exhaust.

Konig Heliums. After pic was taken I mounted Z1 star spec rubber on them.

360cc injectors

Knockoff FM frame rail braces

gospeed81 gave me an awesome deal on this IC kit:

LC1 boost and A/F gauge plus pod

So that's my part list for right now. Obviously I still have quite a bit left to aquire, but we're getting there. There's a starting problem that I need to get fixed before I really tear into this thing first.
Here's a couple pics the painter sent to me of the body work being done:

Well I suppose that's it for now. I should have the car back this weekend so I'll post some pics after the paint job is done!

Got some pics from the painter today. I should have it back by tomorrow. Looking sexy!!

Apparently my trunk lid has caused him quite a bit of trouble. Guess that's what happens when people use your trunk for a seat... -.-

Your painter's doing a real nice job for you. You should buy him a beer. Maybe I'll drive up in a few years for a respray. I'm sure a painter in Ohio would be shocked to see a 25yo car with no corrosion.
How much is he charging, and is it a friend price?

I paid him 2500 for this job. He's an AWESOME guy, and does a fantastic job. Super friendly, and he's a total perfectionist. I can get you his contact information if you're serious. redturbomiata referred me to him. It's not really a 'friend price' though. Just the price of what he needs to get the job done.
I highly reccomend him. He's done so many things that I hadn't specified for him to do in the original job. Like straightening my frame rails, drilling out stubborn bolts, etc.

I'm a few years away from needing anything. Might be fun to visit Ohio again. I was born in Cleveland and lived in the Akron area during HS. Haven't been up there in decades.
I had a painter that did work like that for me in Houston. I moved away and lost touch. I know he was struggling with his business because he was such a perfectionist. I always took him as much business as I could and talked him up.
Looks great BTW.

the painter is an awesome guy, takes his time and far exceeds the prep work i have seen done anywhere else. i have some pictures of it in the sun if you want me to post them.

Just got the miata back tonight, MY GOD it looks f*cking awesome. I cannot give this guy enough props. If anyone in the ohio area needs paint or body work, call him first. The amount of work he put in to this car was much more than I paid him.
Tadd, if you've got some pics please post them up. I'd like to photoshop up a little before and after thing.

btw there was some oil on the floor where it sat, may want to change the cam angle sensor o-ring, and check your cam and crank seals. you did miss 3rd and hit 5th in my car it made full boost on my way home.
