Just found this, awesome build.

Also that sucks about the engine. There are some guys that have been running for years at similar power levels, **** happens I guess.

You pretty much did exactly what I'd like to do with my car as far as turbo, drivetrain, brakes, etc.
I'm only a 5 hour drive away, would be tempting to see what all is going up for sale in a package deal. Feel free to shoot me a PM.

Ok, so my original LFX motor was out of an unknown car, and had hte engine ID code ground off. Chop shop made it right and delivered me a numbers matching 2014 camaro motor with 40,000 miles.

Time to get the garbage unbolted and thrown away, get her cleaned up, and likely have the valve covers painted while I wait for parts from V8R.

While I am waiting on these parts, I also stripped the entire dash and OEM wiring harness out of the car saving an additional 85 pounds. I am extending the roll cage forward with a new dash bar to clean and reinforce everything, as once the dash and dash bar were removed, the path that the original cage took looked silly and moving it forward will provide easier entry and exit as well as look better

Was a bummer to see your TSE EFR build end this way. On the other hand Ryan has proven the LFX is a great solution. Best of luck with the build.

Time for a little update.

Cage is all done, engine bay fab is almost complete and ready for paint.

My new hood, doors, roof, and trunk should be here from CCP fab this week. As did Ryan Passey, I opted for a kevlar/carbon inner layer on all items to add some rigidity and puncture protection.

V8R is supposedly shipping the first handful of items to me today so I should be able to make more progress next week.

Motor is all cleaned up, painted, and ready to go in once the oil pan and remote oil plate arrive from V8R. On a side note I was very successful in walnut blasting the backsides of the intake valves. The carbon/gunk buildup was incredible on this DI motor.

I'll get some pics uploaded here soon.

You're going to love it. Just not for my application anymore.

And I'm trying to get this car done and back out on the track before it gets too hot here in summer

Here are some updated pictures. Wiring is about 95% done, just need to make the connections to the V8R LFX harness.

Last bits from V8R should arrive today. Hopefully I can get everything in and ready within a few weeks.

I posted this in DJWade's thread, but I figured i should put it here as well.

Based on the previous discussions about wiring up the V8R LFX harness, the wire labeled "A" should receive non-kill-switched +12v direct from the battery. This is a very large wire for just a memory circuit. Does this wire serve any other purpose?

Reason I'd like to know is I pre-wired my car with a 16 gauge wire for this purpose, but the V8R harness is like 12 gauge.

Did you replace all the brake lines with braided lines? Looks fancy...curious how it works.

Yes I did. The only long reach is the one to the passenger side rear brake block.

I'm expecting it to be fine. If there is too much flex I'll change that one to hardline.

I know on our E67 ecotec there are like ~4 wire that are supposed to have non-killed 12v, so that bigger red wire you have is most likely just those 4 combined.

You haven't had an issue with battery drain?

We’re killing those wires currently, with untested results...

Looks nice. Is that the stock amount of belt engagement on the water pump pulley? Seems like it would be super prone to slipping at higher RPM and roasting belts.

Its less than stock, but not by much. Its how V8R runs their cars that don't have AC or PS so i guess it should be ok.

here's stock:

Its been a while, but we reviewed the logs and I think I was creeping to 12/13psi

still, thats CRAZY! I would have thought 220 at 10psi, 250-260 at 13. 283 is ridiculous at 13. Wow. Kinda sad you went with the v6. But of course im biased. Have you seen how fast s1 cars are? I personally dont want more that that. Seems like the perfect power level between usability and speed. This is just my opinion of course.
