Welp - the time has come. A deal too good to be passed up became available, and as a result the Miata will shortly be leaving the garage. I will be taking it back to stock, so stay tuned for the part out thread.

In it's place however, is a 1993 FD RX-7 with 64k miles. 2 owner, garage kept. It's only seen 10,000 miles in the past 21 years.

Car was purchased non-running and towed home. But after cleaning the spark plugs (because you can't buy replacements locally) and following the de-flood procedures, she is back to life.

First items to attack:
  • Slight misfire still at idle, sometimes more significant at <10% throttle and low rpm.
  • DOT 2007 tires need to be replaced. Maybe accompanied by new wheels.
  • Odometer does not work, looking in to possibly replacing a couple capacitors.
  • Replace broken stereo with something AndroidAuto.
  • Remove fake wood dash trim kit, and deal with the aged plastic underneath. Likely going to try DIY soft touch painting first, as parts are $$$.
  • Remove "VIPER" alarm system / immobilizer. Maybe replace with newer/nicer keyless entry, but not likely.
  • Cat back + Downpipes
  • Gauges - Probably Wideband, Boost, and either Oil or Water temp.

Here we see a wild FD in its natural state.

Updated first post.

After getting the car to start, a plastic coolant barb on the Air Separation Tank immediately liberated itself. For the time being, I've drilled/tapped the tank and installed a brass barb. It will ultimately be replaced with an aluminum unit, but I want to decide what to do from an inter-cooler standpoint first.
