Default Project Blasphemy

Looks like my project is getting a new life. Picking up right where I left off....just in a new shell. Already put my Kazera KZM wheels on it. Looks great with the dark green!

Picked up this great 01 SE with a not so healthy engine. Always loved NBs, so I figured why not? I have a built motor, tons of nice parts and all in my house ready to go. The price of clean NAs is absolutely ******* RIDICULOUS and not a chance in hell was I gonna pay 4k for a drifted piece of **** with fucked up fenders. The 01 has a clean title, straight body, FM vmaxx 2, FM sways/endlinks, PWR radiator, Miata Roadster tall/angle shifter, Beat Rush bracing all over and a few more odd and ends. The interior is 100% stock and needs a thorough cleaning. The paint is really bad, lol, but I don't care. Have to say the 6spd/3.9 combo is nice even if the engine is on it's last leg.

Talked to some gurus on the forum and 1.6 swap into an NB is perfectly doable. I should end up with a little more engine room, actually. I have the FM2 stage 2 clutch on hand so it's gonna go in with the swap to get ready for boost. Lost the modded ETD shorty manifold in Irma along with my Kelford 272/272 cams, so it's getting stock cams and I'm gonna have a new manifold fabbed up with my FEMA money. The downpipe is gonna be tricky, but should be doable. Car already has FM 2.5" on it so I'm gonna run the 3" downpipe into the FM exhaust for now. Should spool the holset just fine enough for me, even if the powerband shifts up past 5k.

Brain is gonna mod the wire harness from my old MS3x for the NB and I'll do the rest of the engine wiring myself. Now I just have to find a 1.6T badge for the bumper :-) I'm ready for the haters :-)

The 1.6 and 1.8 are externally the same size engine, only the bore and stroke is different. Good luck with your build though.

Well... that would be the definition of "a little." :P

The eggplants on the right are a little smaller than the eggplants on the left.

Putting "in my opinion" after incorrect statements doesn't validate them.
Just proves that they were incorrect and wrong, but unwilling to own up to it.

Check this out:
Miata's are front wheel drive and v6.............in my opinion.

The 1.8 is 22mm longer which is less than an inch difference.

In some packaging scenarios it makes a big difference.
