Im FINALLY coming close to an end with my parts collecting and felt like it was time to start this thread.
This is my 3rd build, first 2 attempts i failed badly. both motors ended there lives with spun bearings after being built
Well im doing it right this time and going all out with all forged internals, low-comp supertech pistons, m-rods, BE oil pump and alot of other goodies and having a professional build it this time =P
I,ll be updating this thread almost daily as parts keep coming in ( im falling in love with my UPS lady
)
Cam gears, clutch, new clutch master, gaskets timing belt ..etc.

my first order of some AN fittings came in from summit =)

Woke up this morning with another order from Summit sitting on my door step hehe

my new magnaflow muffler and cherry bomb came in along with the last AN fittings i needed and some red wrinkle paint.

Got a 2 outlet muffler so i can run a dual tip set up

I dont even want to think about how much i spent so far in just AN fittings...

The day prior, Mr.fedex man dropped these off..new steering rack boots! my old ones where brittle and ready to crack/rip any minute. Since the rack was already out of the chassis thought I might as well clean it up with some kerosene and freshen it up with new boots. paid $18 shipped from ebay. The seller even threw in a twistlers candy!

Andrew,
is Cometic headgasket needed? I got mine ACL race bearings from Calico with coating for extra protection. Can wait till you get yours done. I am hoping to finish my build before summer. Engine is getting build now from Cardelli and hopefully done soon.

Jason - unlike the 1.8 OEM headgasket which is MLS (multi layer steel) gasket, the OEM material used for 1.6 is graphite composite which im scared wont hold up down the road with the future turbo set-up i plan on running so a 1.6 MLS cometic headgasket which will hold up just fine

Oops i almost forgot about these pics, they are of my 90% finished valve cover.
If your wondering how the screws are there I have a little project thread you all can view.
Pics where taken with my gf's d90, reason why they look so freaking crisp and sharp.

I like the COPS solution. You may need to remove those rubber pieces from underneath to get the connector all the way on the plug. Mine has a plate under them, so not sure how much that plays into, it was a pre-engineered solution by Sav. Hopefully it doesn't make enough difference that your studs are too long. They end up being skin catchers in the engine bay when they stick out much, but I'm a clutz...
Beautiful valve cover. I wanted to buy the last one you had for sell, but couldn't bring myself to do it when I have 3 blanks in the garage to try DIY ideas on.
