Alrighty, here are some more paint pictures. All thats left now is the tunnel and engine bay. I have to pull the engine harness back through the firewall and it is dark now. Tomorrow is another day. Let me know what you guys think. There are some spots at the very top of the wells where the tires rubbed and it doesnt look all that pretty. But I still think it is a major improvement.

Looks a whole lot cleaner and nicer.

My only worry would be all that white-ness getting completely dirty and spotty looking down the road

Yeah, but when it comes to my cars I am one ---- bastard when it keeps to keeping them clean. This is how I wash the other halves car...

and then it looks like it did when you saw it about two weeks after. I do that about once a month. My cars get the extra attention to detail.

Another lame update picture. Progress is slow. Waiting on parts and $$$. Suspension is all torn down awaiting paint and new bushings. Tunnel is painted, gas tank reinstalled. Just have to run the fuel lines back up to the front. I freshened up some paint on items like the brake booster, did a wrinkle black paint job on the brake and clutch lines. And sent the calipers and mounting brackets off to be powdercoated.

Got my oil cooler done, some pictures.

The frame is gusseted, it's all TIG'd. Some welds are good. Some, don't look that good. Anwhos... I have about 30 in everything, cooler included. It's all new stuff.
The lines were just some old ones I had lying around I used for a picture

Thanks Vlad, yours is looking real good too. And you can drive yours, which I can't Well small update, I have been gathering things. 1.8 flywheel, coils, fuel pump, finished up my heat shielding down the trans tunnel. Finished blocking the car, and got some more stuff painted. I have been kind of dragging my feet. It irritated me for a while so I just stepped away. Good news, I am buying a 3.909 torsen diff Swap from Jfornachon. I will be picking that up in November when he comes up to Buttonwillow again. Getting a fresh(er) transmission from Josh. So little by little its getting there. Here are some shots, the finish panel was in 3 pieces when I started. And its not perfect, but I am still under $50 for my paint job lol...

Well I got my coils in. Started making my bracket but called it for the night. Still need to weld on the other end piece, drill the mountin holes for the coils, glass bead my valve cover and then weld it to the valve cover. I hate welding aluminum :/

I'm pretty sure I'll have something similar done on my next valve cover.
Welded coil mounts FTW.

You checked hood clearance, right?

No, I didnt. I don't have an engine in the car. If it doesn't clear I have a spare valve cover (this one that's gold) Or I could cut the frame for the hood. The coils sit about an 1 3/4" above the oil fill cap. So hopefully its good.

Not sure about na's but nb's have a bar that goes well above that and still clears the hood easily.

I also just looked at pics from my previous build and the compressor outlet on my 30r sat at least 1" above the vc. Cleared perfectly too

*wait just re-read your post: so they "sit" meaning their mounting point is that high up? What about their top?

No, sorry, the highest point is 1 3/4" above the fill cap. Yeah I didnt think about that, a lot of people have strut bars. Those are much higher than these coils. It should be fine. Do you want a set Vlad?

are you going to cut the bracket so that the mounting holes on the coils are flush with the top part? in other words, if the bottom part of the coil is right above the valve cover, they will clear.

In my car, the coils clear but the -12AN line needed cutting some of the hood underneath.

Small update: picked up a 3.90 1.8 Torsen, got more stuff painted, and finished my valve cover.

I like the last picture best.

Looking good!
Make sure that cooler has some super fine mesh on the exit of it. The crap the front tire picks up will destroy the fins!
