Default William Chen's 2017 S1 - Cherokee

Here are some pics he posted on the Supermiata fb group: groups/supermiataracing
The name comes from a peculiar incident at that last race of 2016 where William clinched the Supermiaat S2 championship. Funny if you were there, unless you were Sonny.

Car being built by Alex Renderos - Renderos Racing in Hesperia, CA. I'll let him answer any questions:

Not sure what vents those are. Front aero not done.

****

Many tubes

Handheld ABC plus onboard AR-AFFF system. AGM battery

Aim MXL4, programmable Longacre Accutech gauges. Not quite done yet. I think he's adding boost and EGT gauges and maybe a switch for the Ultrachiller cool suit.
Also getting a Miata Roadster long angles shifter I think.

William is't tall but he had Alex build the box to lower the seat brackets and center the seat frame behind the wheel anyway.

I though this was pretty clever. Oil cooler where headlight was, feeding from nose and exhaling through hood. That spot on the hood is very low pressure. Neat.

I will name it Thief, because William's got Miller's OG turbo motor with my name carved and engraved on many parts of it.

Thief also work because a Cherokee SRT8 stole the 2016 championship from me. >.<

Default Contact info for Alex Renderos - Renderos Racing in Hesperia, CA.

Yes I did a Google search! Thank you very much.

I'd like some info on that seat pan for an S2 build.

Thanks in advance,

Contact info@949racing.com for Renderos Racing email/phone. He's pretty much busy all year just on word of mouth, no advertising or website so no guarantees he will be able to take your project in soon.

Radio install

Racetech seat install

"Diamond" style door bars with supports into door sill. V beefy door bar

Here you can see the seat box finished

Looks like he put in a seat back brace even with a burly Racetech FIA seat. Racetech seats seem to be even burlier than most FIA seats so this install will be ultra solid.
Note the fire system nozzle pointing the fuel filler hose behind the bulkhead.

Lots of extra triangulation around the A pillar

I was looking at a Racetech 4119 for Rover briefly and noted that they recommend bracing the seat. They had some images of brackets that were supporting un-braced seats after crash testing that made me believe it might be a good idea.
