i dont have words for how the car handles now. except for the vmaxxes, its magic. everyone should have 9s or better on their track rig. i used to average low 1:15s on this track, with a record of 1:14.480. i was averaging high 1:12s to mid 1:13s with a record of 1:11.5xx yesterday.

it is absolutely neutral, and confidence inspiring. i kept pushing it and pushing to find the limit and get it to break loose, and it would either: not happen and just stick, or i would get the most controllable, slight 4 wheel drift. pulling the slightest bit of steering angle would get it right back on track, instantly. i know im still not pushing it 100% in some spots on that track, so im sure i can get a 1:10 when i get more comfortable with this setup. i picked up so much speed in some of the chicanes, i scared myself a few times. i need to get used to it.

i had 2 of the other miata guys come to our pit asking what we had done. we all used to be pretty equal, and now im almost lapping them at 20 minutes. they are all 1.8 btw :)

im going to get some intercooler piping soon, im in the research phase. im wondering what are the pro/cons of aluminum piping with sili couplers vs silicone piping with metal couplers?

i would think metal piping is better as it acts as a secondary heat sink/radiator along with the intercooler, with the silicone piping being more flexible, both literally and figuratively.

BOV placement? right before the throttle body is what i remember being the place to be when i was researching this a while ago.

Take price into account too. I would map out a couple different set ups and pick out the pipes and whatnot. I ended up with really straight intercooler piping because I mapped out like 5 different ideas. If you're using the same intercooler I am go check out my build.

i was going to get one of these, so dont sweat the flange

i can always make one in a few minutes too if i had to

i cant see why i would ever do silicone piping for the price and the downsides. i just wasnt sure if there was something i was missing that make sili piping worth it.

Aluminum pipe will consume slightly less space but is also a bit more difficult to fabricate and get right. I doubt the heat-transfer difference is significant. Comes down to personal preference and how much time you want to spend fabricating.

^^Easier to fab. Also the one piece silicone pieces require no fab. My piping needed 2 extra cuts of aluminum, and thats it.

im looking at you piping pics/comments, are you using 2.25" or 2.5" piping? whats the OD on the compressor outlet?

2.5 inch piping. Outlet is 2.25. I have a 2-2.25 90 degree. 45* piping. And 90s and couplers. Email me for more pics.

SOB it is 2.5"

im using 2" piping anyway for easier fitment, and there is no need to go any bigger.
