i know this thread is premature, but i keep getting all these presents in the mail.
first i wanna say thanks to:
brain (scott)
lev (phil)
splittime (dave)
dpexp (dan)
loustsoul (andrew)

THANKS for answering my dumbass questions!!!
but here is what i ordered
begi china 2854
begi cast mani
begi ss sg dp
lc1
knockoff type rs
ms built by brain
intercooler from cxracing

plan to reroute the coolant upgrade clutch, flywheel, rearend

i dont plan on going over 10psi until i save up enough money to do an engine build.

so i will start with a pic of somethings i got today and yesterday.

i bought an acer aspire one from radio shack for 80$ to tune with.
knock off type rs bov came in today looks nice, oh what mods do i need to do to the bov, i read that some of u guys take out a spring, but i havent had a chance to pull it apart yet.
lc1, sensor and gauge came yesterday.
charge pipes from columbia river came yesterday, i f'ed up and forgot a pipe so i had to place a whole nother order just for one pipe. $27 for a 90* bend geez.
megasquirt from brain came yesterday, for those of u that arent squirting, when ur ready, talk to him, fast shipping great guy.

i think thats everything.

nice :bigtu: all these build threads are making me anxious for my kit to arrive.

LostSoulMiata 05-18-2009 04:40 PM

You know, every time I've seen or met Phil, he's wearing a red shirt

Glad to see you got everything in time for the weekend, what was the deal with the downpipe? Did you end up getting ahold of the guy or going over to his house to get it?

Let me know how that knock off BOV holds up.

Oh yeah, needs wire tuck

this is exactly why I don't like pictures of myself posted. plus you see me on subway commercials all the time.

soflarick 05-19-2009 04:18 PM

I don't need anyone on the interweb to know I am as nasty looking as my posts read.

tyson87 05-20-2009 09:37 AM

you guys really know how to boost someones ego...

tyson87 05-24-2009 11:57 AM

so i need a clutch, decided to go with FM stage 1, i hope that after this goes in my 1.6 diff doesnt break...
also my WG flapper was hitting the DP flange and not opening all the way so i called corky and his idea was to run a second flange as a spacer... so i am in the process of putting that in while my car is parked.

FRT_Fun 05-24-2009 07:48 PM

That thing is a time bomb, I'd start planning to upgrade the diff ASAP.

yeah i am saving up for a new one. what do you guys think is a fair price for a complete swap?

on a sidenote, i ordered some slim fans today to start cleaning up the engine bay.
does anyone know if the standalone MS can handle the fans running if i wire them together?

sucks that FM is closed today i need that clutch. i hope i get everything done intime for the dyno day.

TwoScoopsofHooah 05-28-2009 01:54 AM

The fans would be ran through a relay. The fan current doesn't go through the MS, it just controls the control side of the relay.

tyson87 05-28-2009 09:39 AM

ok so ur saying i dont need to change anything other than the wiring between the 2 fans. no special action is required due to MS?

Braineack 05-28-2009 09:44 AM

all the MS does is activate the stock fan relay. it would be the relay that would burn out if there was too much power drawn from it. but in my experience there shouldn't be any issues with two fans.

tyson87 05-28-2009 10:12 AM

ok, sounds good.

scott, any light on that TPS problem??

Stephanie Turner 05-29-2009 04:51 PM

Ok, the coolant lines have to be re-routed. Forgive me for saying it, but it looks ugly. On the coolant line near the frame, move the 90 fitting to the distribution block and the straight fitting at the turbo. Route the oil supply line by the engine block and not the firewall. I will also send you a another 90 to use on the other coolant line to run it downward. See the pictures below. :)

soflarick 05-29-2009 05:05 PM

BEGI customer service for you, top of the line.

tyson87 05-30-2009 09:43 AM

thanks steph,
i will try to run the lines a different way.

so i will have all my parts on the 3rd...
dyno is on the 6th...
itll be close so i hope everything things go together with out any problems...

BlownRoadster 05-31-2009 05:53 PM

Nice looking setup! Hope you guys have had more luck with the LC-1 than I have.

I received the wrong set of pipes, Im doing Ebay piping and iC. As far as lines Im getting the set from Begi which includes fittings, and hoses.

BEGi

BEGi

I tried custom make them through ATPturbo.com (I dont know of another site) and they come out to be a bit more expensive than the one from begi.

Im getting the coolant fitting that you sent me. Also once I get the IC pipes sorted out I have to find a place so I can have the bung for AIT sensor welded on as well as the BOV flange. Thats why I said give me about 3-4 weeks to sort everything out and then I check up on you guys' schedules.

BTW whats a gopher??

buffon01 07-10-2009 10:28 AM

Tyson, I think I have the same BOV you bought. Can you post a pic of where you placed it??

levnubhin 07-10-2009 10:32 AM

Gopher= someone who stands around to hand you this/that and make multiple runs to the store.

It's a very valuable position.
