Those laser'd gussets are ******* sex.

Are you in Denver still? I'm going to be there the weekend of 9/10, and if its up and running I'd love to come check it out.

Tim made it happen with the baller laser skills. Couldn't be happier. I'm in Denver (well, just west of it in lakewood). PM me and i'll get you my direct line.

Should be rolling by end of the week. Need to sort Meth injection and tune for >14psi.

Winter project will be to install all the metric tone of parts I have:
-New Control arms with Poly bushes (need to get sadfab inserts)
-Xidas
-Somehow fit 15x10s + 245s. Flares would be cool, but going to try and do a hefty pull + roll.
-Seats of some sort
-brake bits.
-pay someone to make me a MS3 or buy a Rev/MSPNPpro

When you meet up prepare to be disappointed. Never will you see a pile of nice parts look like such utter ****. I'll buy you a beer as a consolation prize though.

FWIW I have never been in, nor drove another turbo miata so I have no idea how mine 'feels' by comparison. But I cannot wait to get it back on the road.

We're currently hunting for like an air b&b or something. Planning on 2 days in denver. I'm sure I can manage to talk her into at least one car related thing.

Sorry about the downpipe. That thing was falling apart all over. The extra .875" of length should help. Next time you have the manifold off ship it to me and I'll add reinforcements to that too.

Cannot fault your work for that! I genuinely think my exhaust was much too short and my "make it fit" mentality first go around was the cause for the ultimate demise. Fits like it was meant to now though.

I may pull the head over winter so you may see the manifold over winter. Thanks again!!!

Got a little Meat for my Potato.

Should be getting them mounted in upcoming days. Will be winter by the time I can get them mounted on car, but at least I can look at them in all their glory.

Ok Guys :

Car runs is rad, makes bewst, feels great.... EXCEPT

A stupid weird cut happens. Happened on first drive when I hit peak boost (~200kpa) the motor cut out and then came back on line. Luckily I was logging it, and it's weird. RPM says it drops to 0, duty cycle and pulse width drop to zero, then come back as normal.

Sooo I check boost control settings. Overboost cut was set to 200kpa with fuel cut. Duh. Bumped Overboost to 250kpa went out for a drive.... Happened again at 170kpa.... Wtf?

I have two screen shots of the log when it happens. Could this be spark blow-out (don't remember what these plugs were gapped at)? Why does RPM and Fuel drop to zero if that's the case?

In other news since the new Tunerstudio update my MS2 will constantly disconnect itself every couple of minutes and I have to unplug my usb and plug it back in. REALLY frustrating when I'm trying to VEAL a map...

Can you get a composite log of it happening?

And post the log file.

Will try to get a composite log of it next time I take it out. Just got to work today.

Normal logs :

200kpa cut is the 8/28 log
170kpa cut is the 8/29 log. In both instances if you search by max boost or max map it'll take you straight to the problem.

Went to lunch. Still dicked.

Boost cut at 250kpa, but doesn't make it above 170kpa. Looking at the log the RPM and Duty Cycle just crash, it feels like the motor falls out, then it comes back. I dont' know what spark blow-out feels like, but it feel like it would be less dramatic then this. Who knows. I'll gap my plugs down tonight at the end of work see if that helps. 100% boost related, I was able to take it up to redline in vacuum without issue.

Why would RPM drop to zero? My 94 is coil driven tachometer, but the MegaSquirt shouldn't rely on that signal to know RPM. Might need to create a thread on this subject. See if I can tempt Brain in to look at it.

You could be loosing cam or crank signal. The composite (trigger tooth) log will tell all. That's why Aidan asked for it.
The fact that you can get it to consistently behave this way will greatly help debug

Honestly don't know. I'm looking ahead and not at tach when it happens. Will observe next time it happens.

Tried to composite log on lunch run... did not catch it. Will try again. Still an idiot when it comes to composite logging.
