Default 2000 Mazda Miata LS - $8k

Category: Import
Status: Lien

I have a 2000 Mazda Miata LS for sale, in USA - Pennsylvania.

Mileage: 75000 miles
VIN: JM1NB353XY0143294
Engine Size: 1.8

Asking price is $8k

I originally bought this Miata as a second “fun” car a few months ago. Bought it in NY and drove it back to Pittsburgh. It is a blast to drive around but priorities are changing and keeping a toy doesn’t make the most sense right now. I did get to take it to one autocross and the car performed wonderfully. The car is essentially unchanged from when I bought it from the PO, and I’ve only added around 3k miles to the car since purchase.
The car currently has around 75k miles on it, and the motor has around 15k on it. The turbo has less than that, although I’m not sure of the exact mileage on the turbo.

UNDERHOOD:
honed block
9.1:1 pistons
m-tuned rods
chrom-moly rings
new headgasket
all new seals/gaskets/etc
new water pump/timing belt
new serpentine belts
M-Tuned coolant re-route kit
new radiator
BEGi turbo manifold
Godspeed 3076 .86 a/r 4" inlet turbo internal wastegate
stainless turbo feed line
custom welded oil return into oilpan
custom 3" downpipe
custom heat shield
off brand strut tower bar
custom 3" mandrel exhaust with 6x18 cannister and 2 big resonators
custom 2.5" aluminum front mount intercooler kit
GM ait sensor
forge blow off valve
nxs manual boost controller
Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors
Walbro 255HP fuel pump
FM Level 2 clutch

ROLLERS:
Raceland Coilovers
TRMotorsport 15x9 +36 wheels
Bridgestone Potenza RE-11
Porterfield RS3 front brake pads

INSIDE:
megasquirt DIYPNP with ms2-extra firmware
internal MAp sensor
hardwired tuning cable (removable)
Autometer boost gauge
AEM uego wideband o2 kit (hardwired into MS)
MOMO JDM rx7 fd3s steering wheel
Pioneer head unit (lights up same color as speedometer)
NB2 center console

OUTSIDE:
Kee soft top with glass window (less than 3 years old now. Does have a tiny hole below the glass that I sealed up. Does not leak)
blacked out 03 Miata projector headlights
Xentec HID kit 6000k
Red out tail lights
03 Miata front bumper
Optional equipment Front lip
Optional side skirts
OEM rear mud flaps
smoked emblems
OEM 01+ Mazda Miata "crisp white" paint job

The bad:
Paint isn't perfect, there is some chipping at the top of the drivers door. I believe it was due to poor prep from whoever painted it. It is not noticeable unless pointed out but should be looked into.

You have to convert it back to na for emissions inspection, as MegaSquirt doesn’t provide a connection signal via the OBDII port like the OEM ECU does. All the parts needed to do this will be included.
The car was originally tuned to be run with e85. The PO had given me a tune for 93 the he used for storing the car in the winter and driving it from Cali to NY but it wasn’t very good. I flashed the firmware on the megasquirt from 3.0.3u to the current 3.2.1 and after accidentally frying the coil pack had it back up and running with the base tune from DIY. The car made ~300hp at 18 pounds on e85 but I currently have base tune timing map loaded and use with 93. Honestly the car needs to get some dyno time because it has a lot of potential and is super conservative. I think I have the e85 tunes I just never bothered to put them on (only one gas station near me even has e85). The tune that is currently on the car is okay but could use some smoothing out. Like I said, I did go to an autocross with this tune and the car drove great.

I am asking $8k for the car, which I feel is a fair price for a car this well sorted. I’m not in a rush to sell, and I’m not interested in any trades at this time. With a little time and patience this car can be a pristine example of a turbo Miata, and should be an awesome street/track/DD-capable setup.

Mine. Dibs.

Was the PO 18psi?

What transmission is in there?

I will be flying or driving out and driving the car home. Just need to get some deets figured out and come to a final agreement on price.

ohhh she's pretty. Need more pics.

How do you wish to be contacted?

Yes this is 18psi's old car. It has a 5 speed the PO put in right before I bought it.

I can get pictures and/or videos of the car just let me know if you want to see anything specific. I am going to make a photobucket and dump some pics into it and post it on here in a few days.

The best way to contact me right now is through email: timsavage2 @ hotmail.com

hahahahah, yup this is my 1st miata

Glad its still doing well and looking great years later. I am seriously proud of this car and really glad both you and Bryan took good care of it.

IF anyone needs more info on build or pictures, I still have a TON of pictures, videos, and both setups I did on this car are documented on here.

*edit: I believe I even have my old maps for it too. I'll have to check.

Here is a link to a photobucket with all of the pics of the car I had on my phone. Again I can get any picture or video if a potential buyer is interested.

Photos

Any picture that shows the car with a hardtop on is from at least 1 month ago as I have put it on my DD miata.

Also I forgot to mention there is a small crack on the front bumper that is visible in a few of the front pictures. From what I understand when the PO brought it from 18psi he hit a small animal on the drive back to New York from California.

I wasn't kidding. I'm talking to my wife tonight, will be in touch tomorrow. She had given me permission to buy a turbo miata by January but I have idolized this car ever since I first saw 18psi's sig and I must have it.

Would you sell the hardtop with it or pretty set on keeping that?

I was going to list the car with the hardtop for 8.5 but I really think I would rather have a hardtop this winter on my dd than a little extra money. I don't think i could part with it.

Thank you thank you *bow* Seriously though, I've spent wayyyy too many hours poring over FS threads and bugging sellers to NOT be real excited about this. Going to pick it up Monday morning.

Can't wait. Is it Monday yet?

Thank you everyone for your interest but the car is officially sold to turbofan! Hopefully he will be able to enjoy the car longer than I was able to. It was a little hard to watch it drive away but it appears to have went to a very good home.
