Default 2003 Mazda Miata Sport - $9000

Category: Import
Status: Clean Title

I have a 2003 Mazda Miata Sport for sale, in USA - California.

Mileage: 188000 miles
Engine Size: 1.8

Asking price is $9000

Located in Elk Grove, California - Near Sacramento

Selling my Miata to buy an mr2 again... may consider trades. All work done by me, I'm a professional mechanic - everything is done properly. You'd pay 15k in parts and labor for all the work I've done and parts I've made and installed for this car!

2003 Miata Sport model (body kit, bigger brakes etc)

188k on original motor in perfect shape. 2003 models have the better VVT (variable valve timing) engine that makes more power and gets better millage

Clean title. Title in hand etc. Registered etc No BS!

To smog this car you'll need to put it back to stock or live in a smog free county etc! I have most of the stock parts, it can easily be put back to stock and smogged in a day, back to turbo the next day. I can do this for you if the price is right.

Engine:
Flying Miata DIY turbo kit (Their manifold, outlet and downpipe)
Garrett t25 .82 ar turbo charger - taken from a nissan sr20 turbo motor.
CX Racing front mount intercooler installed properly with brackets etc.
2.5 Aluminum charge piping with silicone couplers and Tbolt clamps etc
Koyo Racing 52 mm Aluminum radiator - runs cool in 100 degree weather with the AC full blast.
RX7 fuel injectors
AEM FIC fuel computer
AEM wideband O2 sensor
VDO boost gauge
VDO EGT gauge
Denso Iridium IK22 spark plugs
All service completed (timing belt group, water pump, accessory belts, valve cover gaskets etc all done at 180k)
Still gets 25-30mpg!

Running 7 psi off wastegate.

Brakes:
Power slot front rotors
OEM rear rotors resurfaced
Hawk HPS brake pads - best street pads. Silent and awesome bite - no fade!

Suspension:
Bilstein shocks and custom springs
Rota wheels with g-force tires one year old lots of tread
Perfect Alignment done by myself. Every angle set as perfect as the machine can read - you don't get this from a standard alignment shop!
Best handling car I've ever owned.

Audio:
Single DIN conversion - gauges mounted below stereo in second DIN slot looks great
Nice mp3/usb etc deck, color matched etc.
Custom 6x9s in the back (Miatas don't come with rear speakers!)
Stock front speakers
Sounds great - clean sound!

Features:
Power everything! Locks, windows, steering, power trunk via remote!
Cold AC
Cruise control
HID headlamps with OEM ballast not some cheap ebay junk

Needs:

A catback exhaust of your choice. I liked it quiet but an upgraded catback exhaust will allow you to make a lot more power

Dyno tuning - The AEM FIC computer is fully programmable. It's been extensively street tuned but some time on the dyno will improve everything. Runs strong and smooth as is however.

Bodywork to the hardtop. I got the hardtop cheap and it shows. It needs some fiberglass repair and paint. Functional as is, had planned to have my friend (works in the bodyshop of my shop) fix and paint it. I can have it done for you if the price is right, color of your choice etc)

Paintless dent removal to take out the minor door dings etc - My shop works with a very good paintless dent removal guy. I'll have these pulled out if the price is right.

An owner that understands and loves cars. This is not for an amateur! I've sold a few modified vehicles before that I continue to work on and maintain for the new owners in a professional manner. This is something I can offer the new owner.

Here are some pictures:

Will sell for best offer. No rush to sell at all. I still drive it all the time and love the car it's extremely fun to drive! I've probably forgotten some info and parts so just ask.

No lowballers, no dumb trades, no solicitations

Not sure how I can see them on my phone and my own computer... something to do with the sites auto resizing thing?

I uploaded them again....

Great, and thank you! I love the thing but it's too similar to my more serious toy....

The SSRs on the FD deserve more meat...stop treating them like an Ethiopian hut child.

Nice NB though. Too bad so far away, I have a friend looking for something like this.

That FD. OMG. I can't stop drooling.

I'd love to check it out in person (I'm in Sacramento). You go to any meets or anything?

Also GLWS on your miata. Very clean so so similar to mine.

I'm genuinely interested in this car but won't be able to do anything for a bit, about a month or so.

I live in Michigan, however... think the car would make the drive no problem? It's basically exactly what I want -- a decently clean NB with a turbo but not too heavily done up. If everything works out I am willing to fly out there and drive it home. Yes I'm serious. haha

I have worked with modified turbo cars before so I'm comfortable with that aspect of it.

What condition is the soft top in?

I've put nearly 10k on the setup with zero reliability issues. Literally never even popped a charge pipe!

Come get it already. I sold a 1jz swapped FC rx7 to a guy that flew in from norther Arizona a few years back... made it no problem. That car is in Hawaii now!

I'm not in a huge rush to sell... I still drive it all the time. I would love to keep it honestly, it's very fun to drive and totally out handles the FD (well at low speeds anyways) not to mention the steady great mpg.

Better hurry before I just keep it

Oh, and there is no soft top. I took it out and sold it... damn thing weighs nearly 50lbs!

Pretty easy to get a nice soft top.... but why? I'm a hardtop or no top kinda driver I guess.

Ok cool. Yeah, during the winter time I would keep the hardtop on, but during the summer time I gotta have a top I can put up/down easily because weather here is very unpredictable during spring and fall. It will go from sunny to rainy 4 or 5 times in a day sometimes and I don't want a wet/ruined interior but I gotta be able to drop the top!

It's not totally a deal breaker. I am still researching, if it happens to sell then that's OK, if it's still available when I'm ready to do something I'll take a closer look...

Just wondering, there's a lot of mention of the "right price" in the original post. Is this mythical "right price" your asking price, meaning that for the asking price you'll have the dents pulled and such?

Thanks!

There is a local importer I visit often that has a number of soft tops in his warehouse. Could certainly get you one.

For asking or close to asking price i'll have the paintless dent removal guy fix all the dings, and do a really nice detail / pressure wash, give you a full tank and oil change too

Anything else can be worked out. The price is negotiable as well.

Ok, that answers my questions! Like I mentioned, I'm about a month (perhaps a bit more) away from being able to do anything, so I'm shopping... but these cars seem to take a while to sell most of the time, so I figured I'm not totally wasting everyone's time!

I'll let ya know
