Selling a boosted Miata sucks. :-)

it's $6800 now. At this point, I'm taking the best offer I get in the next week or so... ugh

symphonicreverb 11-30-2006 05:19 PM

Seems I still have no serious buyers! blah I'm shaving $600 more off the price and hoping for the best. Gotta get in something bigger before I convince myself to keep it...

$6,200

It cost me $5,200 STOCK before all the mods and a new engine.

BrokeEnthusiast 11-30-2006 07:24 PM

your not the only one haveing problems selling

symphonicreverb 12-02-2006 06:01 PM

MAN.

I'm losing 2nd gear. I just rebuilt the differential too.

Here's the thing, I'm tired of working on cars for now, I'm just need to get into some cheap old Honda and not modify it. :-)

SO, $5,500 for it.

AND, I will put in a new transmission with part of that money before it's shipped off. If anyone has been thinking about buying a Miata, this is just a stupid price.

If anyone does want this, provided there can be a BIG chunk of the money down, if you are 1 or 2 g's short, I can work out a payment plan on the rest.

Just make offers, it's time to rip me off!

Speaking of ripping you off. I'll give you $4000 for it. . Do you happen to have a picture of the engine bay from the top?

symphonicreverb 12-04-2006 09:09 AM

Yes, but I wouldn't consider $4,000 ;-)

Just as a last throw down before I garage is. I'll give it up for $4,500 OBO at this point as is. Drives fine in all the other gears. If not, car cover is going on, and I'll be back in the spring! :-)

symphonicreverb 12-12-2006 11:07 AM

$4k OBO AS IS

I keep going on and off thinking about selling this or not. I've been needing to just buy a Honda Civic so I can't do any more modifications! My plan is to sell this, use the money to pay off my debts, buy a cheap civic, and in the future start over with another Miata when I have money again! :-)

PROBLEMS SPOTS:
1-Small vacumm leak, believed to be causing a random slightly high idle
2-Scratch on passanger side door, not huge at all, but I couldn't buff it out
3-few scuffs on top of the hood from not soft cloth
4-2nd gear blew up

MODS:

Performance:
-55,000 miles on car
-40,000 miles on JDM Engine, all work done by AIM Tuning
-5,000 miles on new intake manifold
-ACT Extreme Clutch with organic pressure plate (2,000 miles)
-IHI Turbo charger (Corky Bell kit) (10,000 miles)
-Bell Engineering intercooler
-cartech BOV (blow off valve) (I have a DSM 1G BOV I'll throw in for free)
-cartech APFR
-boost gauge installed in vent (with light kill switch)
-Koni Yellow Adjustible sport shocks
-1.8l Miata injectors (210cc I think?)
-Replaced VLSD (will be added before sale)

Cosmetic:
-unique style 7 chrome wheels with tires
-custom mounted leather racing seats (needs some racing harnesses!)
-Racing Beat Style II chrome style bar
-Chrome Vent Rings
-Chrome gas lid
-Altezza taillights
-Carbon Fiber interior trim kit
-Vodoo shift knob (i think it is)

$4k as is

What happend to the steering wheel column cover?:sadwavey: Also 61K miles?:eek4: I'll check out the car tomorrow man. I just got down here man :eek5: I'll . Also what happen to my free dsm bov?

ckandes1 02-06-2007 11:00 PM

is this car still for sale? Status on the tranny?

iluvtruenos 02-07-2007 01:04 PM

Ok.

I have four grand sitting in my bank account to be comissioned into use for another Miata. I also have a spare tranny in my garage.

So my question to you is thus: Can the car be driven back to Chicago without second gear? If not, is there any chance that I can bring a tranny down there and swap it out and drive the car back to......Chicago?

In any case, can you please send me some pics of the engine bay to iluvtruenos at hotmail dot com

he said it runs fine without second gear in a previous post. You'll just rev it pretty good in first, then go straight to third. Besides, on a trip you'll be in 5th gear the majority of the time anyway. It'll work fine

I replaced the tranny, but I think the other tranny is good still. The damn pilot bearing just fell off when I talking the tranny out. :vash: I sell you the car for $5000 without the tranny or the motor :gay:

ckandes1 02-25-2007 01:19 PM

status?

supra441979 02-25-2007 07:20 PM

I have replaced the tranny and it shifts fine now and but the darn motor has a thrust bearing problem. The engine idle drops and a lot of times cut off when I press the clutch pedal.:vash: I have replaced the engine with a different one now, but head gasket is leaking on this new motor.:vash: Do you guys think this qualify for lemon law? I was told it's the transmission that the the only problem.

turbopezz 02-25-2007 07:38 PM

does the bill of sale say ''sold as is''.if so probally not.

What bill of sale :vash: ? I have a title and it does not say "sold as is":nono: :gay: But I have a chat log that states onlything wrong is the transmission. :eek4:

symphonicreverb 02-26-2007 11:52 AM

I just randomly peek my head in to find this?

You did not purchase from a dealer, you purchase from an individual. There was absolutely no guarantee's set. I told you every problem I knew, we spent HOURS talking through everything.

AFTER I SOLD YOU THE CAR. You IM'd me EVERYDAY for a month. I've been helping you and answering questions for you.

Now you are considering trying to "lemon law" sue me? I'm pretty DAMNED sure there is no case. I could sell you a car that I poured sand into the motor, once the title is signed over, it's a completed sale. There were no guarentee's offered.

OBVIOUSLY, I was not trying to rip you off, as all the time we spent talking and I talked you through every detail of that car. You purchase a car that is blown up, you get what you paid for.

If you want to sue "lemon law", then come sue me. If not, then STFU and please stop talking me down in this forum.

I've done nothing but try and be of help to you. I even forgave the rest of the money of that check your mom wrote to me that bounced, and the hundreds in overdrafts that ended up causing me. I'm done with you.

BTW:

Lemon Law: A vehicle that continues to have a defect that substantially impairs its use, value, or safety. Generally, if the car has been repaired 4 or more times for the same Defect within the Warranty Period and the Defect has not been fixed, the car qualifies as a Lemon.

You purchased a used car, not a dealer car with a warrenty.

And further more, on lemon laws with private party...

"To recover your purchase price, you must prove that the car had a significant defect affecting safety or operation...and the seller knew about it but failed to disclose it. Not an easy proposition."

We both have documentation of every conversation in which I explained in closed detail everything I could about any funny noises, the high idle etc.
