Default FS or FT for Miata: 1991 Eagle Talon TSi AWD - insane amount of mods

Got out of the Miata scene and into the DSM scene for a while. I miss my Miata too much. :-)

This car is fast as hell and handles like a wet dream.

For sale for $6,000 or trade for a Miata or Miata + cash depending.

This project was almost complete until the last transmission seized, so it still needs that. I can pop in a new transmission before shipping if someone lines up a trade or sale. Can't afford to keep doing this.

1991 Eagle Talon TSi 98,500 miles

Body:
Body is white and SHINES, has a few dents here and there, will be outlined in further pictures later, all I have now are the pictures showing off the car, obviously you can't see the small dents in them well, maybe 3 or 4 total. NO RUST, CLEAN FRAME

Interior:

100% perfect prestine interior, well taken care of. Two things are a small cigarette burn in drivers side seat, I just noticed it a few weeks ago, and the stereo/radio bezel is empty. Back seats are in and fine, all seat belts work. Rear hatch was stripped for weight, but only the floor.

Stereo:
no cd player in it now. but there are Klipsch Reference drivers in all the doors, and JBL tweets up front in the dash speakers. (easily $500+ worth of audio)

Engine:
5,000 miles on it since I got it. JDM motor, perfect compression within 2-3 when first purchased. No indication of anything wrong, but in the next few days will do another compression check to verify.

Engine mods:

550cc RC injectors ($350)
Supra twin turbo fuel pump ($70)
TD05-16G turbo (capable of 365 whp at 22psi) ($425)
ARP head studs ($80)
Snow Performance h20/Methenal injection ($390)
HKS 272/264 Cams combo ($570)
Prothane Poly motor mounts ($120)
72 plate Mesa external oil cooler with a/n lines ($150 with lines)

(the following 3 come with the car but are not on it yet)
large stainless steel unused FMIC with piping for blow through ($375)
2.5" throttle body elbow drilled for h20/meth ($50)
GM 3" Maf (for used with a MAF-T) ($50)

Drivetrain:
This car will come with an extra transmission because of all the $$$ in it. Needs a rebuild has a crack in the case. NO WORKING TRANNY comes with car unless you want me to put one in or get this one rebuilt before shipping

ACT 2600 clutch ($300)
Aluminum rod shift **** ($25)
Clutchmasters 11lb Flywheel ($100)
4 bolt swap rear end LSD ($150)
welded center differential ($50)
koyo upgraded axles ($150)
(the following are parts in the transmission that needs a new bellhousing from a crack)
GVR first gear ($200)
double cone 2nd gear ($125)
HD shift rails ($150)
high friction syncros ($190)
LSD front insert ($225)

Suspension:
All suspension parts have less than 5,000 miles on them, all in perfect condition

Suspension Mods:
KYB AGX adjustible shocks ($550)
Eibach ProKit Springs ($275)
Front Strut Tower Brace ($75)

Brakes:
Braided brake lines (dunno)
DSM 2g calipers ($150)
newer rotors (dunno)
Hawks HPS front pads
pads are mostly there, as well comes with brand new set of brade pads
Front drivers side caliper squeaks, maybe seals

Interior and Electronics:
autometer boost gauge ($50)
Greddy EGT exhaust temperature gauge ($150)
h20/methanol snow performance injection (all ready mentioned)
DSM link (full tunable ECU software and chip) www.dsmlink.com ($500)

Wheels and rubber:
Kosei K1-TS wheels, light as HELL ($600)
wrapped in Toyo Proxys 4 ($600) 5/8 tread left

Exhaust:
turbo exhaust dual tip on car, but also comes with 3" turbo back full exhaust with muffler, welded straight pipe, just needs new DP welded for it ($300)

The car is a project and a half but just needs that tranny to be a driver, and it's not too far from being finished and ready for the track. Should be capable of 12.2's ish with a good driver. Everything is ready for a larger turbo and injectors and should be easy to break into the low 11's with an EVO big 16g and some 800cc's or something. Everything is ready and capable for tuning, DSM link is so great. Tuned for street currently at 15psi. 20-24 miles per gallon on cruise and anywhere from 2-10 WOT


I'm open for trades for any car really, preferably a Miata. Year, mods, etc are all open, but I'd prefer red or black in color. Any offer is an offer though, shoot me a PM if interested.

Dont know how far you are...im in so-cal and have one up for sale, but like you i own a CSM - yup...a CSM turbo mirage. Would be bitchin to finally own a DSM.

sorry man, not really interested in a stock '90 with that many miles. however, I just read your post. if you need any parts, let me know. i got piles of DSM parts and whole nother 4g63 motor sitting around with a 3 angle valve job. just pm me if interested

Located in Indiana. Whether selling or trading, willing to ship. Obviously if buyer is out of driving distance and wants to ship, or if car is shipped for trade, I like to spend as many hours on the phone and take as many pictures as the buyer / trader would like to verify condition and mods.

i'd trade my 94 mx 5 plus turbo supplies maybe hehe... it just needs a custom DP. Not sure tho, WAY too far which sucks.

Can you send more information, a write up/pics to me?

I'm really looking more to trade this than sell I think, not entirely sure. Do I need to post a price to be within regulations on MT, or is just for trade ok and I'll entertain cash offers?

back up for sale or trade.

Since I had this for sale:
-Installed Wideband 02 and tuned for 15psi
-Got a new $1,200 Josh built transmission, 100 miles on it, works great
-Put a full black leather interior
-Did custom gauge installs, no more nasty pillar. Boost gauge in center gauge cluster, EGT, Wideband digital read out, fuel/oil gauges (need hooked up) voltmeter, and a bunch of other random crap.

$1500 more invested, dropping asking price by $1,000.

0hh, also added a new dual feed-rail supported AFPR with an lines.

Also comes with a couple extras trannys for rebuilt, two transfer cases, extra set of axles, extra radiator and starter and if you can come tow it, a free black Eclipse GSX parts car!

damn... kinda tempting... i have a miata that makes north of 200hp. and should be worth exactly what you're looking to get as a trade value. if you want to see the mod list pm me, i'll make one out for you. but its worth pretty much 5k at least, and i have the mods to prove it.
