Default 1993 Miata LFX conversion, Fresh!

What???

I've vey got a family member who needs some help, and I'm going to do what I can to help him. Family will always come 1st.

Because we've got a lot of toys I am thinking about what should go- the boat is a family toy and the kids/ friends love going to the lake so that's out.

My new KTM has 9hrs and was $10k (but worth probably $8k now) but I ride every other weekend and love it... So it low on the list.

The 335i does not get driven that much and I put it up for sale yesterday. Plus, was planning to sell it and the 2500 to buy a new Ford 1st qtr 2016.

The truck is necessary until replaced.

The Miata... I loved the project and outcome but the reality is that I can use it 4x a year until 2017 when it can be street legal again (due to age/ emissions). I have $24000 in building it (ish) and owe nada. It's probably the best opportunity to assist without tapping into savings or retirement funds. Bummer, but I'll get paid back and can build another one.

I'd sell the car for $20k. Here are some numbers:

1993 Miata, clean shell with fresh paint and factory hardtop-$3500
LFX and AY6- $2500 (2012 Camaro w/ 40k)
v8R mount kit- $1800
V8R diff kit stage 2- $2150
V8R fuel kit- $400
V8R clutch kit- $200
Sparco pro 2000 CF seat- $2000 (paid $600)
Sparco pro 2000 passenger seat- $800
V8R ecu and harness- $850
Enthuza exhaust- $1000
Aim MXL Pro- $3000 (pd $1000)
GPS05- $300
Braille battery- $150
Longacre switch panel- $40
Flyin miata big brake kit- $1000
Fat cat bilstiens w/ 700/ 400lb springs- $1300 ($0- with car)
6ul wheels with RS3- $1000 (paid $750)
Racing beat sway bar- $100
Cold air intake- $200
Hard dog roll bar- $450 ($0, with car)
New carpet kit- $300
Aero catch hood latches- $80
Throttle pedal- $40
Getrag g80 lsd- $350
Abs door cards with alcantara covering- $200
V8r- shifter- $250
New windshield- $150
Carbon mirrors with slick auto kit- $300
Vitesse throttle controller- $180
Misc electrical- $300
Pro 5pt harnesses- $200
V8R oil pan kit- $350
New GM flywheel and clutch- $500

The car weighs 2280 with a full tank of fuel, has a flat torque curve and will be an amazing track beast. You could spend $24000+ and take 6 months to build one yourself or save $4k and all that time.

Pics are in my build thread. No corners were cut in this build.

Car needs to be dyno tuned as its running in an ultra safe/ rich mode currently (expect C6 z06 acceleration). Once tuned, the vette will be a fading spot in your rear view mirror (will pickup at least 50hp).

The axles were too long which is being corrected now, otherwise she is ready to start depressing owners of much more expensive rides.

Expensive for a 93 Miata, no doubt. However, when compared to other cars with the same power to weight ratio, it's the deal of the century. If the BMW sells 1st, I'll keep this car.

Now I understand why current-gen Corvettes all come stock with that silly-looking plastic cover over the intake manifold.

Still, that's an exceedingly beautiful build you've done there.

Gorgeous car and build. Really want to follow in your footsteps once v8r figures out the whole carb thing.

Gluck with sale!

Beautiful - but just wondering, track only? No headlights?

Thank you!

It's configured to be a track toy. I do have extra switches installed and thought that I might install some led lights at some point but weight reduction was the priority.

Sorry to hear you have to sell it. Was cool looking at it at Road atlanta a few weeks back (unless there's someone else running around here with a v6 Miata...)
